High Five!

Bitsy Girl!!  You're five!

Too cool for school  ;)

This year went by so fast, but you've grown so much.  You're writing your name, learning your letters, and so very thoughtful and observant.   You're so excited to be a big kid, but still use "I'm just 4, Mama" when it suits you.

"I don't know all my letters.  I's only FOUR!"

"It's ok, I'll do ____ when I'm five"

:)

It's an adorable procrastination tactic.

I'm feeling especially sentimental this week, and I'm not sure why.  The first couple of birthdays were purely fun celebrations, but as you move into early adolescence, I find myself increasingly sentimental and emotional.  Such a Mom, huh?

Today is your big day, and we're headed to a farm in Redmond for a pony party!  We let you choose between a Western or Unicorn theme, and of course you picked the Unicorn theme.  I expect some very pastel pictures out of this.

As per our new tradition, I interviewed you, and here are your adorable answers:

What is your name:  Abigail

How old are you: four (so I ask how old she'll be on her birthday) five!

What's your favorite color: red

What is your favorite thing to do: play Barbies

What do you want to be when you grow up: a kitty cat (I clarify what this question means) a Mommy

What's your favorite food: mac and cheese

Who do you like to spend time with:  Logan and Emily

What do you do really well: hug my Mommy

What makes you laugh:  when I do silly things

What's the best time of day:  going to the pool

What are you afraid of:  bears

Who is your best friend:  Logan and Emily and and and...just two.

What do you like to do with your family:  hug

What do you love to learn about: ABCs!

Where do you like to go:  Disneyland (she has never been ;)

What is your favorite book:  tinkerbell

If you had one wish, what would it be: having so much fun!!  No, wait, Barbies!

Ha!

I realize some of these questions are a bit ambiguous; I'll have to look for some new ones, but it was super cute none the less (you were so serious about answering each question; taking a moment to look up in the sky and ponder each answer in your head)

I love you so much my sweet, kind hearted girl.

Happy Birthday to you!!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
