Giving Thanks in 2018

...ain't always easy, but we had a fantastic holiday anyway 😉 Per usual, we joined my family in Leavenworth for an extended holiday weekend and Kevin's parents joined us, too.

Ben's First Piece of Art

I didn't think I would be at kid #3 and able to track a first piece of art, but when I never do any at home I suppose it becomes more obvious  ;) Ben worked on this a few weeks ago with George during his speech therapy session.  I had some paperwork to fill out, so Ms Judy offered to bring Ben in for George's sessions.  Both had a great time and Ben was thrilled with his masterpieces! He's been pointing at it with pride on the bullet board for a few weeks now  ðŸ’•

Thanksgiving 2017

We had a very relaxing Thanksgiving in Leavenworth this year.  Mamie and Papa decided to join Anne and Ian for their first year in Jersey, so it was just us, Victor, Catherine, and my parents. We spent the holiday weekend eating, drinking, and setting up for Christmas (George is REALLY into Christmas this year and was thrilled with the idea of setting up Gma and Gpa's tree the day after Thanksgiving). Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Turkey Day, 2016

The kids really enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving this year! It started with Thanksgiving Feasts at school on Tuesday; they were each allowed to bring their favorite food to share.  George brought strawberries and hot chocolate (ever the random eater!) while Abigail went with a classic: mac and cheese. After school that day, we ventured to Leavenworth with Gma to spend the rest of the week, and holiday weekend, at the cabin with family. It was a nice, relaxing week.  We got a snow dusting Wednesday morning, enjoyed a relaxed Thanksgiving day, some time in the hot tub, bonfires, a trip to town to see Santa on Friday night, and a HUGE log fire on Saturday (that was still burning when left on Sunday, and probably kept embers through the early part of the week!) Here are some pictures from this year's celebrations Wednesday morning snow!

Thanksgiving 2015

This was our second year celebrating Thanksgiving at the new house, and while the group was the same as last year (my parents, Victor, Catherine, Mamie, Papa, and Uncle Bob) it felt a little different than before; in a more relaxed, wonderful way. Papa's train tracks sure did make it more fun for the kids! The majority of the long weekend was spent relaxing at the house, walking around in the snow, and making fires.  We took the kids to town on Friday evening to welcome Santa to town, pick out their yearly ornament, and walk in the children's parade ( where we managed THE front and center position! ) Neither Abigail or George had an issue with Santa this year.  Abigail was a bit shy but she managed to tell Santa that she wanted a butterfly bike for Christmas (in response, Santa asked if she wanted one with wings.  Really Santa?  Thanks.)  As for George, he didn't say much, but Abigail assured the big guy that George wanted some new choo-c...

Thanksgiving, 2014

It has been almost 20 years since we spent a Thanksgiving holiday on the family property , but this past weekend we Christened the new cabin with its first Thanksgiving celebration! Spending the weekend with our families (Gma, Gpa, Mamie, Papa, Uncle Mike, Uncle Victor, Catherine, and Uncle Bob) was relaxing and enjoyable.  We had a great time playing in the snow, making bonfires, setting off rockets, watching football ( and movies each night! ), and going to town to meet Santa at the Christkindl Market. Snow on Saturday morning was a fun surprise, too! Sledding with Papa Thanksgiving morning.  George wasn't a fan Dance party! Kevin's fire.  It was much bigger than this picture makes it look  :) Back at it.  Still hating it My pant-less cowboy! Thanksgiving 2013

As per tradition, we spent our Thanksgiving holiday with family in Leavenworth taking time to relax, unwind, and give thanks for a year of blessings. George had a great first Thanksgiving with lots of smiles, coos, and afternoon naps on Mamie, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa. Abigail on the other hand, spent most of the week passing along her lovely cold to the whole family :) This year we found a place on the Wenatchee River.  It was so nice to spread out and relax.  We went into town a few times (Abigail and George got to see all the pretty Christmas lights and met Santa!) and we spent Friday afternoon at the property lighting rockets and seeing the new house (my parents are building a second home on our family property) Here are some pictures from the weekend: The Thanksgiving Day frying crew Victor and Catherine Carving the fried bird Thanksgiving Evening Apple Cup morning- Go Dawgs!
