Mother's Day, 2018

Happy Mother's Day, ladies! This year we celebrated with a trip to Suncadia for the weekend.  Kevin and the kids surprised me with this trip and after George's karate class on Saturday, we headed to Roslyn for a fun-filled 24 hours.

Mother's Day 2017

Kevin and the kids pulled off a great Mother's Day once again! I was showered with gifts (some great new Lululemon gear, aka stay at home Mom wear 😉) and sweet notes from the kids. To celebrate we had an early brunch at the Salty's at Redondo Beach, then spent the afternoon at the house with my family. Here are some pictures from the morning:

Mother's Day 2016

We had a blast celebrating Mother's Day this year! As per tradition, Kevin surprises me for the day.  I realize the expectations are high and could backfire at any moment (and they have!) but we love putting the FUN in dysfunction! This year I awoke to breakfast in bed (where I watched Curious George with the big kids) and was cooked my favorite: Eggs Benedict.  After breakfast came the big reveal: an overnight at Suncadia - that night! We drove up at nap and spent the day drinking, swimming (Benny's first time!), running around the hotel, watching movies, and eating room service pizza for dinner. It was perfect. Aside from Kevin's phone getting drenched in water, and mine with a broken camera lens (and thus, fuzzy pictures) I would say it was the best celebration to date (Kevin taking off Monday work, giving me a shorter week was a bonus too) Road trip! Waiting while Dad checks in, making faces at the camera Checking out the digs An...

Mother's Day Tea!

Kevin and I are leaving in 12 hours for Kauai!!! but before I go, I wanted to share pictures from Mother's Day Tea at Abigail's school! I received an invitation a week ago.  Since then the kids have been working on projects preparing for the big event. Upon arriving, us Moms were asked to wait in the hallway where we would be greeted by our child, then escorted into the classroom (this alone made my heart burst!  Seriously, how cute is THAT?!)   So here I was waiting for my little one when Abigail shyly rounds the corner, looking down, clearly intimidated but oh-so-excited. "Mama, you come with me",  she said. What she was suppose to say was "Welcome to Mother's Day Tea!  Will you please join me?" (It's all just too cute!) So in we went and sat at a table with her friend Grace and Grace's Mom.  After making bracelets, the kids served us strawberry shortcake with lemonade and iced tea. Then after everyone was finished, the kids...

Mother's Day Weekend 2015

We celebrated Mother's Day with my family in Leavenworth this year.  The weather was perfect so we were able to spend our days outside, taking in the fresh mountain air (and more importantly running the kids ragged)  :) Since Abigail and Kevin took the train last time (and because it was Mother's Day weekend!), I made the request to ride with Miss Abigail this time. We had such fun! The views through the North Everett valley were incredible, only surpassed by the scenery of the Cascades. And while the (ancient, hardly still exists) photographer within was dying to take pictures, the toddler in tow was set on playing puzzles with my phone (said photographer only uses her iPhone for pictures nowadays)  so I'm void of any cool shots. Sigh. The weekend was spent in the yard starting a garden, riding Gpa's new mower, playing down by the river, and enjoying some time in town. Kevin's surprised me with an afternoon at Sleeping Lady on Saturday for a foot tr...
