Father's Day, 2018

Happy Father's Day to this stud!

Father's Day, 2017

A most happy of Father's Day to our favorite guy! We've been spending a relaxing weekend in Leavenworth with both sets of parents and are enjoying sunny weather, great BBQ, and time as a family. Kevin,  Thank you for being the wonderfully caring Dad that you are.  The kids are so lucky to have you, and I'm fortunate for a great partner in helping hold this whole thing together! You are amazing and we are thankful for you (almost 😋) every day.   XXO

Celebrating Dad!

We celebrated Father's Day in Leavenworth this year with the kids and my parents. Initially Kevin planned to relax and smoke a brisket on Saturday, then golf on Sunday but as luck would have it, he only got one of the above... Brisket! Since he didn't want to golf alone (I am many things, but good golf partner ain't one of them) , he took a rain check and we spent the weekend with the kids playing in the rain, smoking a delicious brisket, and lounging around. Here are some pictures: Brisket time First ever attempt with a sling shot  ;) Grandpa's gift! Breaking in the new ping pong table 8 hours later, The Masterpiece! Dads and Babes Kevin,  Your dedication to family and unwavering strength (especially when we're ALL melting down) amazes me every day.  You are such a kind, fun Dad and you love our babies so much. I couldn't have asked for a better leader of the pack, and I love you so very much! XXO Me, Bits...

Father's Day, 2015

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day this year! Since the actual day fell on the Sunday of the US Open (here at Chamber's Bay, none the less!), Kevin spent the day with his Dad out at the course, so we celebrated a day early. As per an increasingly impossible tradition, I made him breakfast in bed.  Abigail has been coming into our room at night to sleep, and apparently she was moving all over the bed the night before, so Kevin ditched us and went to go sleep in her bed. (and here I thought he was just trying to sleep in!) We brought him coffee and the gift Abigail made for him, then thought better of the whole breakfast in bed fiasco and just ate downstairs  :) Abigail made him a kite and card, so after breakfast we hit the streets to test out Dad's new toy! We spent the later part of the day on Bainbridge.  The kids LOVED riding the ferry (it had been a while!) and had fun going to the toy store in town, strolling ar...

Happy Dada Day

Father's Day was one for the books this year, but not in the traditional sense. I had been sick the week before and was coming off a cold, so I wasn't much in planning mode.  Here's how the day went down: Kevin slept in (probably his highlight!) Abigail insisted on cake for breakfast (we kept talking about Dada Day, so she figured any good celebration should include cake), so at her request, we served her cake (a muffin), put a candle in it, and sang her Happy Birthday. Kevin vacuumed the living room I was exhausted, so Kev brought the kids to the YMCA while I stayed home and napped Kevin made lunch while I hung with the kiddos (See, not traditional Father's Day fun...) When they got back, we hung out for a bit before heading to Mamie and Papa's to spend the afternoon with them.  Mamie made delicious brats for dinner and strawberry pie for dessert, but right around 5 o'clock I started feeling sick...and it got worse. By the time we left, I was ...

Father's Day Weekend

Last year we went to the lake for  Father's Day , so this was Kevin's first year celebrating at home. We kicked off our weekend festivities boating on Saturday with Mamie and Papa! Abigail had a shirt for every occasion  :) Kevin was concerned that Abigail may not like the boat this year, but she seemed to love it!  (at one point hanging off the bow and looking into the water.  Maybe a bit too comfortable...) We had dinner on the patio at  Wilde Rover where Abigail devoured a hummus plate (and snuck in sips of ranch dressing when we weren't looking!) , then stopped for sunset near Meydenbauer Bay on the way home. Father's Day cigars on the bow We pulled into the slip around 9:45 and had Abigail in bed at the decent hour of 11pm  ;) (not to mention her "midnight snack" of beans, rice, and enchilada at 10:30pm!) Sunday morning began with breakfast in bed on the couch while watching the US Open.  Kevin request...

Happy Father's Day

I hope everyone enjoys the day celebrating the special men in their life. Kevin,  Thank you for being such an amazing Father and role model to our precious daughter.  Abigail and Baby are so lucky to call you "Dad", and I am so blessed to call you mine! I love you.

Celebrating Father's Day in Lake Chelan

We packed up Thursday morning and headed to Chelan for a weekend getaway. Kevin, Abigail, Dad, Mom, Victor, Popeye, and I joined-in for a weekend full of boating, bonfires, booze, and sun. We stayed at Watson's  (on the south shore, near the state park) and enjoyed cabin style comforts of life on the lake- it was great! View of Watson's from the dock. We stayed in the front left cabin with the big deck.  Great views! ....a relaxing weekend spent with family, and topped off with Kevin's first Father's Day celebration! View from the deck Abigail hates her lifejacket... Guess who took a turn at the helm! PBR + Lake Chelan = perfection Dinner at Wapato Point Cellars Chillin by the campfire The nightly bonfire Morning cruise, coffee in hand Saturday's swim crew Teaching each other to swim.. who's in charge here?! An afternoon bocce ball tournament Victor's Chihuly-style bonfire on Sa...
