Halloween, 2018

What a fun halloween we had this year!

Our First Annual Halloween Party

This year we decided to stay in our neighborhood and throw a Halloween party of our own! As many of you may remember, Kirk and Amy have thrown fabulous Halloween parties each year since moving to Seattle, but with our kids getting a little older we thought it would be nice to let them celebrate here with their friends. So, we did what any uber creative couple would do: we stole Kirk and Amy's Halloween party idea and copied it to the T 😉 This year our little family went rouge with their costumes.  Initially George wanted us all to be Power Rangers (that would have been so fun!) but Abigail understandably wanted to do something different. So Abigail went as a Hatchimal, George was Bumblebee, Ben was Elmo, Kevin was a Hot Dog (like I said, we copied their party completely) , and I went as a Care Bear A week or two before Halloween the kids and I passed invitations out to the neighbors, and that evening we had a nice sized group of kids and adults ready to party...

Halloween Parties

As usual, both Abigail and George celebrated Halloween with school parties this year. Since George attends school M/W/F, his was on Monday so George gets to go first in this post! George decided to be Bumblebee for Halloween.  Bumblebee is actually a Transformer character, so I think he confused a lot of older people and parents of girls, but he was so proud of his costume this year. We celebrated at school with food, games, a chance for each kid to introduce their costume, and a couple of songs the kids surprised us with. The Pre 4 class is such a fun group.  Most of the kids were in Pre 3s last year (which was 16 kids) and now they have a wild group of 18!

Halloween, 2016

We had a great time celebrating Halloween this year! Abigail and George got really into everything about it; from costumes to pumpkin carving, they were thrilled. Back in September we bought George a Superman costume at Costco (to get him out of his Elsa dress), and he quickly adapted; wearing Superman most every day and night.  So it seemed only natural that we join him in a super hero themed Halloween! All was well as I ordered everyone's costumes, and George was excited to see each as they arrived, but come Halloween Eve as we all tried on our new costumes, George was left with his "old" Superman costume and he was really sad (cue Mommy guilt). So of course I wanted to help, and here I am at 6pm the night before Halloween, calling around to the local costumes stores and searching online for a "blue Batman" costume.  I was able to find a same-day delivery one on Prime, but when it arrived the next day it was far too big.  So, after convincing him that...

Happy Halloween!

The fun hasn't stopped Halloween season! To start, I actually got my act in gear again this year and decorated the house early, so we enjoyed our frightful decor for most of the month. Add to that a pumpkin patch with Mamie and Papa earlier in the month, as well as school parties and a class trip to the pumpkin patch, and you have the recipe for some happy kiddos! Both George and Abigail had school parties which I was able to attend.  George's class allowed siblings (so I brought Abigail along with me, who dressed up as a cat for the occasion), then today, Abigail's class had a party (no siblings were allowed, but luckily my mom was in town to watch the boys). Here are some pictures of the festivities! Partying with my G Man He insisted I take a picture of his cape Bowling at G's party George's class, all dressed up! Abigail's class, after getting back from Trick or Treating around the school Standing up to tell ...

Pre K Pumpkin Patch

Abigail and I joined her class at Remlinger Farms for a field trip earlier this week. We had a great time exploring the farm, watching a live show, learning about bumble bees, riding a train, and picking out a pumpkin. Here are some pictures from our day! Learning about bees Farmers Abigail and Stone It was a beautiful and fun day with my little Miss; I couldn't have asked for more.

Halloween 2015

This year we joined Mamie and Papa at their awesome neighborhood party for Halloween! The kids went as Minions, which of course I planned sometime back in August (ha!)  I got my Mom working on revisions by late September, and so the planning process was pretty light this year (for me anyway.  Thanks again, Mom!) At the last minute ( we're talking a day-of, nap time "ah-ha" moment ), Kevin decided to go as Gru, which left me out of the loop, but with nursing and the general requirements of Mommyhood, I had enough going on.  Either way, it was a lesson learned.  Starting next year, it's back to family costumes (it's just so fun!) Anyway, we stopped by Gma and Gpa's on the way out to West Seattle to show them the crew.  Being the great cheerleaders that they are, they dressed up in support of our little broad  :) After hangin' with the fan base, we were off to Mamie and Papa's for the party! Since the weather was rainy, they ...
