Labor Dave Weekend

We attended our first concert as a family last weekend and had so much fun -DMB was the perfect band and the Gorge was ( obviously ) the perfect venue ✨

George and Mommy Time

Last Friday while we were in Leavenworth celebrating Kevin's birthday, Mamie, Papa, Lucy, George and I floated the river during nap time!

38 is great!

It appears I'm getting cheesier with blog titles in my old age. Every few years my birthday falls on Schwingfest.  Since I can remember Schwingfest has always been an annual highlight for me and this year was especially great, celebrating The Tacoma Swiss Club's 90th Anniversary!

A Pool Party

Again! We had so much fun at the pool for Abigail's 6th birthday that she decided to have her party there again this year (although this time we scored the pool closer to our house) .

Eight Years

Yesterday Kevin and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary.

Happy Fourth!

We spent the day on the boat with friends, lounging in the sun and watching Bellevue's fireworks from Meydenbauer Bay. A perfect day to relax and celebrate summer! I hope you had a happy fourth as well. Cheers!

Signs of the Times

Baby will be here before we know it, and unlike my pregnancy and early months with Abigail, I'm ready to embrace all things "daycare" (what I call homes with excessive amounts of baby toys, swings, and changing tables). Here are a few examples of the "daycare" we've embraced thus far: Fridge Art (amongst a million ultrasound pictures!)   Abigail's artwork makes me smile, and they're each a Masterpiece in my mind. A pinwheel in our front yard.  I could stand for a new one, but I leave it here for Abigail's enjoyment. Sippy cups overshadow our wine glasses.  Who thought I'd live to see the day?  Not me. A typical view of the tub when using our guest bath. Couch cleanings lead to toddler treasure troves.  Here are just a few gems from my last dive. The latest breaking news: decanters make a great vase! Our bathroom has become a Little Tikes parking lot.  Literally. The funny thing is, before Abigail...

Seattle Sunshine

The Lauckner's are loving this sunshine! Last Thursday we went to Zoe Yogurt at Greenlake for dessert (a habit we more than slightly indulge).  We hadn't planned a swim, but we gave Abigail her own yogurt and she'd made a bit of a mess... Not too thrilled that yogurt time was over So it was time for a down-to-diapers dip! She loved sitting at waters edge, dangling her little feet in the water, and eventually getting the nerve to take a few steps in.  Of course we had no change of clothes or extra diapers. Walking back to the car was a pretty big Mommy fail: pregnant lady carrying an I-don't-want-to-leave-so-I'm-going-to-yell toddler, wearing nothing but a soggy (and mind you, dirty!) diaper and sneakers with no socks  (needless to say, I got my fair share of looks). But Saturday's water activities went smoothly; we spent the day downtown, stopped at the Aquarium, then spent the evening on Alki. (a bus ride in, followed by the...

A Desert Babymoon

We're back and getting up to speed after our trip to Scottsdale last week.  It was a whirlwind of a week leading up to our trip (getting ready for and throwing the Clayton's going away party, then turning around 5 hours later for AZ), but it made me appreciate the days that followed so much more.  It's funny how relaxing a vacation can be on the heels of busy, busy, busy! We had a great time basking in the desert heat (however, I could have done without the leg burns on Friday, followed by a high of 107 on Saturday! 107 is brutal.) When I was pregnant with Abigail, we considered a going on a "babymoon" but the concept seemed a bit silly  (what is a vacation without sunset happy hours and drinks by the pool?!) and while this still holds truth, getting away one-on-one for a week was just what we needed.  I forgot how much fun we have on vacations together (without an oh-so-cute, but high maintenance baby in tow).  Our last solo trip (exceeding a few days...
