Happy Birthday, Kevin!

The birthday celebrations roll on... ...and this weekend we are in Leavenworth to celebrate Kevin's birthday!

Eight Years

Yesterday Kevin and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary.

Father's Day, 2018

Happy Father's Day to this stud!

Father Daughter Sock Hop

Abigail and Kevin had a blast at St Joe's Father Daughter Sock Hop!

Happy Birthday, Kevin

Today is Kevin's birthday and there is more than one reason to celebrate. A couple weeks ago he was offered a job at Amazon as a Senior Project Manager in the AWS division (Amazon Web Services).  I am so proud of the time and dedication he has made to his career in order to get to this place. Add to that a freshly minted 36 year old, and I feel brimming with reasons to celebrate! Since he worked today we joined him for lunch at the new digs.  The kids and I parked at Pacific Place and took a roundtrip monorail ride as well - a highlight for them!

Father's Day, 2017

A most happy of Father's Day to our favorite guy! We've been spending a relaxing weekend in Leavenworth with both sets of parents and are enjoying sunny weather, great BBQ, and time as a family. Kevin,  Thank you for being the wonderfully caring Dad that you are.  The kids are so lucky to have you, and I'm fortunate for a great partner in helping hold this whole thing together! You are amazing and we are thankful for you (almost 😋) every day.   XXO

Kevin's 35th Adventure

Birthday celebrations are still rolling here at the Lauckners, and yesterday we celebrated Kevin! I told him to take a half day since I had something fun planned.  Then yesterday morning during breakfast we gave him a manila envelope with this certificate inside: So at noon he came home, my Mom watched B (the big kids were at school) , and we headed to Seattle Paragliding at the base of Tiger Mountain. I was able to hang out for a couple hours to have lunch and chill with the birthday boy (they have a great lawn space, music playing, and cold ones in the fridge) , then around 2pm I left to pick up the big kids while Kevin started his training. The kids and I got back, and within minutes we saw his parachute take flight.  Both A and G were super excited and that excitement lasted a good 10 minutes  ;)  We were waving to his little parachute from 1700 feet below when I got a FaceTime call. Guess who? He won Dad of the Year for that ca...

Smack Dab in His Mid-Thirties

Kevin has officially joined me in the mid-thirties! Arguably he could have qualified last year at 33, but this year his fate was sealed. (I only say this out of bitter resentment and fear over having just turned 35!) We celebrated with my family and the kids on Saturday in Leavenworth (drinks downtown followed by burgers and brews back at the place), then on Monday (his actual birthday), I let him sleep in while the kids and I made his favorite coffee and a breakfast sandwich.  Then after work that day I ran to get Indian takeout and a few cupcakes to celebrate one last time. To say it was a low-key year is an understatement.  I feel like I dropped the ball on festivities (insert lame pregnant lady excuses), but I promised him I'd make his 35th worth it.   So the pressure is on next year! Anyway, here are some pictures from the uneventful event that was Kevin's 34th Birthday :) Birthday Jello shots  :) Happy B...

Father's Day, 2015

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day this year! Since the actual day fell on the Sunday of the US Open (here at Chamber's Bay, none the less!), Kevin spent the day with his Dad out at the course, so we celebrated a day early. As per an increasingly impossible tradition, I made him breakfast in bed.  Abigail has been coming into our room at night to sleep, and apparently she was moving all over the bed the night before, so Kevin ditched us and went to go sleep in her bed. (and here I thought he was just trying to sleep in!) We brought him coffee and the gift Abigail made for him, then thought better of the whole breakfast in bed fiasco and just ate downstairs  :) Abigail made him a kite and card, so after breakfast we hit the streets to test out Dad's new toy! We spent the later part of the day on Bainbridge.  The kids LOVED riding the ferry (it had been a while!) and had fun going to the toy store in town, strolling ar...

Happy Birthday to Kevin

We spent the weekend in Leavenworth celebrating Kirk and Kevin's birthdays with my parents, Mamie, Papa, Victor, and Catherine.  Things get busy with three immediately family birthdays and one Grandparent birthday within 11 days, but it's also so much fun! The weekend kicked off at Munchen Haus for Papa's birthday dinner of pitchers and Big Bob brats where the food filled our stomachs, while the live band filled the warm summer air. It was a relaxing weekend sprinkled with a BBQ, some nice morning walks, and a mini-hike along the Tumwater.  Kevin's only request was to sleep in and play nine holes of golf Sunday morning. (I only fulfilled the latter request... :/ ) Abigail loves telling people she's three, so this weekend we tried explaining to her that Daddy's now 33: "So you know how you're three?  Well this weekend is Dada's  birthday and he's going to be three three!" "Ooooh.  Okaaaaaay"  I think we lost her ...
