Father's Day, 2015

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day this year! Since the actual day fell on the Sunday of the US Open (here at Chamber's Bay, none the less!), Kevin spent the day with his Dad out at the course, so we celebrated a day early. As per an increasingly impossible tradition, I made him breakfast in bed.  Abigail has been coming into our room at night to sleep, and apparently she was moving all over the bed the night before, so Kevin ditched us and went to go sleep in her bed. (and here I thought he was just trying to sleep in!) We brought him coffee and the gift Abigail made for him, then thought better of the whole breakfast in bed fiasco and just ate downstairs  :) Abigail made him a kite and card, so after breakfast we hit the streets to test out Dad's new toy! We spent the later part of the day on Bainbridge.  The kids LOVED riding the ferry (it had been a while!) and had fun going to the toy store in town, strolling ar...

Happy Birthday, Husband

This post would have come sooner, but I thought our Mac bit the dust.  Turns out, the mouse was unplugged...  :) In years past, Birthday Week was my favorite, and while it's still the crowned Holiday Season around here, it got a lot busier this year (turning from Birthday Week, into Birthday Month). I can't tell you how nice it felt to let the dust settle yesterday.... sigh. Thursday was Kevin's birthday eve, so we dropped Abigail off at my parent's house and Kevin and I went boating- it was a blast!  We grabbed a few brews, went swimming, then headed to Blue Water Bistro at Leschi for dinner.  After dinner we extended our Eve celebration with night swimming... probably not the safest idea to kill the lights and swim in the dark, but I love the rush of doing dumb things... it makes me feel young and stupid again  :) Heading back from dinner at sunset Friday morning I rushed home to prepare for Kevin's semi-surprise birthday party (he...

TGIS!

In the wise words of my Mother-in-law, "Thank God it's Sunday!"   As promised, below are a few pictures of Kevin's double screen Masters week. Lots to look at! Congrats to Charl Schwartzel for the big win today.  Also, congrats to Kevin for coming in first place on Tiger Woods 2012....big win in the Lauckner house today!   I watched for a bit, although Minnie was clearly bored to pieces.... Happy Masters Sunday!

It's Masters Week!

I really shouldn't use an exclamation in the subject line.  The week typically means Kevin dissolves into the couch to watch golf until Sunday, but it's also a fun time at our house.  He loves watching the Master's (says it's his Super Bowl), and it's fun to watch him geek out and get so excited about it.  This year he set up two TV's side by side so he can watch the Master's on one, and play his new Tiger Woods 2012 (Master Edition) on the other.  This is no joke....we gave it a test run last night.  I promise to post pictures this week once he's in full geek mode  :) It's also hard to believe that 3 years ago today, Kevin, Kirk, Amy and I were in Augusta, Georgia walking around Augusta National (like as we speak)!  What a fun day and week it was....every year I think of that trip and all the fun memories.  We saw lots of famous golfers (Fred Couples, Tiger Woods, Gary Player..), then spent a week in Charleston, South...
