Wintertime Art

Another Abigail Lauckner art and classwork installment is here! The adorably shy picture they took of Abigail her first week of school, and insist on using in EVERY piece of picture art  ;) Painting Frosty Practicing cutting and gluing Snowman decor  ;) Angel with hand wings Abigail made this with me at her school Christmas party.  I asked her to make a HAPPY reindeer.  HA! She's been doing great with writing (now writing her name all by herself!) and loves showing me her work when she brings it home each week. Too sweet.

Four + Half

Our little Bitsy Girl turned four and a half earlier this month, and I thought I'd celebrate with an interview.  I'm not sure she fully understood all the questions, but it will be fun to see how these answers change and mature over time. five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...

four months

I can't keep up! I could have sworn you were turning 4 months in a another week or so, but when I looked at the calendar, I saw we're already there. Oops  ;) The name of the game this month is sleep. More specifically, the lack thereof. Around Christmas sleep was good; typically waking only once a night, but you regressed around the new year and have been waking every 2 hours most every night since.  It's slowly killing us all, and while I try to be positive about it, it's really wearing on me. (I happened across George's 4 month post yesterday and saw the same story ...Boy I hope you're a better sleeper than your brother was!) Aside from the most precious gift of sleep, things are great! Here are some fun things we're loving this month: You started rolling to your tummy  You're sitting up really well You're engaging with toys.  Your favorite is that crazy handled rattle You laugh when we tickle you.  It's the cutest thin...

A Holiday Marathon

I've been procrastinating.  Our holiday celebrations were so much fun, but with so many pictures and things going on, it seemed like a lot of work getting it written. And I've got enough work around here lately  :) This Christmas was a special one for a couple of reasons: most importantly, Benjamin was with us and we got to celebrate his first Christmas!  However, Uncle John and Auntie Carolyn were in town, so it also meant a Grand Slam was in order. We celebrated Christmas morning a day early (there are only so many years we'll be able to get away with this) .  Kevin's family got a cabin on Lake Chelan for 3 nights starting the 26th, and since we  also wanted spend a few days with my family, we headed to Leavenworth the morning of the 24th. Abigail asked for a butterfly bike this year, and Santa figured George could stand to start early, so the two big kids got bikes this year!  A few days before Christmas, Abigail woke up and told me she had a dr...
