Abigail's First Day of Preschool

Abigail attended her first day of preschool on Wednesday. We've been anticipating this day all summer (potty training) and were so proud to send her off to her first day of "real" school last week.

And true to the unspoken private school fashion, she rocked her name brand shoes.

Flash back to my SHS days for sure :)

She is attending Evergreen Academy here on the plateau and so far, she loves it!

I came to pick her up on Wednesday and started talking to the float teacher who told me Abigail had done great. She was engaged, happy, and agreeable (said yes to everything asked of her with a huge smile on her face). She even told me that Abigail was her new favorite :)

That meant so much to me, and I was grateful knowing she'd had such a positive first day.

I also learned that parents are to wait outside for their kids; it helps the children practice gathering their own backpacks and walking in a single file line outside.

Standing on the sidewalk, eager to see my little peanut, I heard her before I saw her:

"Mammaaaaa!!!" she eagerly greeted me as her tiny arms wrapped firmly around my leg.

And as we were getting in the car, she insisted on walking off the curb by herself "no I do, Mamma"

Little Miss Independant!

We celebrated her first day with lunch at Panera Bread before heading to the new house

(more on that soon!)

Thinking deep, preschool thoughts :)

Aside from school on Friday, Abigail has asked to go every day- I'll assume that's a good sign!

I'll be sure to keep you posted as more blog worthy events occur (namely picture day and field trips) :)

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!
