Siblings

Anyone with more than one child can recall the magical moment their babies met.

Kevin and I were overjoyed watching those first weeks of interaction and as the weeks have passed, the moments have only gotten sweeter.

It's been interesting to watch the dynamics change in our house.

Abigail and I are still very close, but she's been warming up to Kevin and just loves her Dada (oh boy, here we go...).  And while George is pretty straightforward at this age, he enjoys his Dada time too, giving Kevin lots of big smiles and coos each night.

As for Abigail and George, he loves watching her play, smiling at her, and listening to her talk to him in her high-pitched puppy voice.

She loves petting his head, giving him kisses, and having a bubba with him.  Bubba time is sort of like happy hour around here.  Problem is, Abigail never took a pacifier so she has no idea how to suck on it.

Fine by me!

I think these two will be lifelong friends and watching them grow fills me with pride.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
