Happy Birthday, Abigail!

These months are passing quickly, and you are growing and learning more each day; it's getting hard to keep up with you!

Cheese and Chicken: these are your two favorite foods.  You shovel them in your mouth and laugh and as you eat them...it's pretty hilarious.  What's not so hilarious is the mess you make for your neurotic Mom who likes to keep things "just so"... ;)

Along Came Mr. Crocodile: ....quite as can be....and SNAPPED that monkey right out of that tree!  This song makes you laugh every time!  When Dad and I sing it to you, you scrunch your face around the time we start singing "quite as can be" in anticipation of the "SNAPPED"- then you crack up laughing!

Crawling: or as we like to call it- doin' the worm!  You're getting around these days; not the fastest, but if you're determined (if there's an iPad or cell phone luring in front of you), you can get to it at an astonishing rate!

Books: you love reading.  Sometimes I'll walk into a room, and there you are, laying on your back, book high over your head, babbling as though you're reading aloud.  Your favorite books are "How Many Kisses Do You Want Tonight" and "Goodnight Moon"

New tricks:  using your sign language for "more" to mean anything associated with eating, learning to wave "bye-bye", mastering the High-5, and catching on to "blowing kisses".  I'm trying in vain to get you to say "Mama"- no luck yet  :)

You keep me on my toes.... staying busy constantly, yet learning to slow down to see the beauty, wonder, and magic of our world through your eyes.

Happy Birthday, sweet girl.

Mama loves you.

What a coincidence...I love chicken and cheese, too! Glad to hear I have the same diet preferences as a 10 month old.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
