One Year of Wedded Bliss!

Can you believe it's been a year already?

The seedling we planted on our wedding day, exactly one year later.

When I look back, it seems so much has happened, but it also amuses me to think we've been married a year already... like seasoned vets  ;)

My parents got us a room at Alderbrook as an anniversary gift, so we headed up yesterday to enjoy the evening together.  It was the perfect getaway and gave us the opportunity to relax and reflect on our first year of marriage (we also started a reflection journal that we'll update each year.  I posted the Year in Review section of it below)

The spot we got married!
Does this baby make me look fat?  ;)

We headed to Robinhood Villages for dinner and were surprised with a private table by the creek.

When Kevin called to make the reservation, he'd mentioned our anniversary, so they set up a secluded table for us to enjoy; so thoughtful and special!

We left full and satisfied (Kevin had the Kobe steak, I had the French Baked Salmon), then meandered back to our hotel room for the serious business of cake eating.

We weren't sure how a frozen cake topper would taste one year later, but it did not disappoint.

Amazing!

My little cake toppers are now out of the freezer and enjoying the much warmer weather!
A horrible picture, but it sure beats the others he took.
There's something a bit grotesque about watching a 40 week pregnant lady eat cake...in a robe

Below is our 1st Annual Lauckner Year in Review.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered the queso dip (yep, the

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a
