Channeling Saturday

We had our 38 week doctor's appointment last night

I'll spare you the "in-and-out" details, but let's just say there's no progress yet.

....but we're not giving up hope for an on-time baby (think I'm jinxing myself?  Yeah, probably)

Courtney, our super cool nurse, advised us that Dr. Koala would be on call this Saturday:  "so channel it in and make it happen."  HA!  If only.

We did however walk away from the appointment determined to come a step closer to Baby.

So....

We started the evening with a very long walk:

....to this Thai place where we had 2 star Phad Thai and 1 star Pang Nang Curry....  (yeah, I'm a wuss)

For me, it was like eating fire.

Then we "soccer mom walked" it home (as seen in above pic) for some lunges and squats

(this picture didn't turn out...I'll spare you)

Yet here I am this morning, sans baby, and probably still at "zero"

But all hope is not lost.  As I said, we're channeling Saturday, not Friday, so our destiny (while almost 100% predictable...) has yet to be determined.

So stay tuned....

(and wish us luck!)

Praying for you and baby...she will come when she comes but I am hoping for sooner rather than later.
I try and think about how she will look and what her personality will be like...can't wait. BTW, you look pretty darn good for a full term lady!

P.S. This is Mamie, not Kirk, although he would say the same thing!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!
