Bringing a new Tune to the Music Room

We finally got the movers by this morning with my Grandparents little couch; we've been intending to do this for a while.  It's a hide-a-bed, so it will be perfect to have across from the nursery on nights when our parents take care of the baby we have guests staying with us.

This room started off as our living room while the basement was being remodeled.  Since then it's seen a few small remodels, but I think we've finally nailed it.

Here's what it looked like before:

Once the basement was complete, we painted the walls (I choose Kevin's favorite t-shirt as inspiration), removed the bulky ceiling fan, and hung Kevin's guitars around the room.  The purpose was as a "man cave" / music room.  Super fun, yet not extremely practical:

We also had an issue with noise at times  ;) ....

So it was time to be grown ups and make this room into something practical:

And yes, we used instruments as decor, but hey, it fits the motif!

Next up: the deck!

I was waiting until we stained and set everything up, but I'm anxious to show everyone.  Can't wait for some sun and summer BBQ's!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!
