The Kingfish Cafe

Friday night Kevin and I went to dinner with my parents, uncle, cousin and his girlfriend at The Kingfish Cafe in Capitol Hill.  If you haven't checked it out and love Southern food, it's a must!  Amazing!

We split the pork chops and mac and cheese (plus the sweet potato fries for starters!).  I don't know about you, but Mac and Cheese is one of my all time favorites.  Like seriously, if I had to choose a last meal, it would include mac and cheese.  With that in mind,  I'm happy to report I have found my favorite version here at Kingfish!

Check it out:

A brick of Mac and Chesse??  I was in heaven!

We didn't get dessert, but the Red Velvet cake looked delicious, so save room.

Oh and here's a link to their website...lots of amazing Southern food:  http://thekingfishcafe.com/

Aside from eating, life's been pretty busy.  Lots going on between work, weekends and doctor appointments.  We had a doc appointment on Friday- strong heartbeat, uterus measuring right for 18 weeks, ect, so we're thrilled!  Been doing a bit of nursery shopping too, so that's been fun...spent yesterday going to IKEA, Land of Nod, and Merry Go Round, so it's feeling more and more real every day!

That's all for now.  We find out the sex in 2 weeks, so stay tuned for the big news!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
