Two!

Happy Birthday, GG BOY!

Today you turn two.

You are full of spirit! Always laughing, climbing, jumping, running, and smiling (although today you seem a little off).  Over the past two years you have filled our lives with so much fun, excitement, and joy; being your Mom is a continuos adventure full of learning and, at times, a good dose of patience  ;)

As you've been able to tell, I have been pretty tired this past week.  Your baby brother was due a week ago today, and while I was really hoping he would come last weekend, we are now passing your birthday and he still hasn't arrived.

But I do like the fact that we will be able to celebrate your birthday first each year.

Even though there is a new little one joining our family soon, I don't want you to ever feel like you aren't #1 in my world.  I love you so much, and I know from having you when Sissy was 2, that my love for you will not change.

(Not. One. Bit!)

You are an amazing boy and I can't wait to see you as a big brother!

Here are your new news:
  • You love jumping and have quickly adopted Tigger as a new nickname "The wonderful thing about GG, is GG's a wonderful guy..."
  • You and Sissy have a hard time sharing at home, but you're thick as thieves when others are around (I love this about you guys!)
  • Bottles are still #1 in your world and the only way you will drink milk
  • You've been waking up WAY too early lately.  5-5:30 am  :/
  • You understand everything we say, but still only speak in single syllables
  • You've become borderline obsessed with trains, and Thomas is your favorite train character
  • You are still breaking some of your front teeth and have been pretty irritable over it the past month or so
  • The bounce house has been a summer favorite!  You and Sissy love turning the power on and off on each other  :)
Tonight we went to Torrero's to celebrate your big day with Grandma, Grandpa, Mamie, Papa, Uncle Victor,  Catherine, Lucy, Oscar, and Charlie.  As I mentioned, you've been in a bit of a funk today, but being with everyone tonight seemed to cheer you up!  You also really loved having Happy Birthday sung to you by everyone; I'll never forget how you looked up at me so happy as everyone around you was singing and smiling.  You really are such a treasure, and I love you more and more each day.

En route with your choo-choo balloon

Happiest of birthday, sweet boy.

And just for fun, here's a look back on the last two years!

1 year! (and your birthday party)

Well, my heart just exploded going through those months and looking back at all the memories of you.  Is there any greater gift in the world than being a Mommy?!  I don't think so.

I love you forever, my little Chicken Nugget, Prince of Thieves, GG Boy, Joe, G!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
