Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it!
You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day. This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee", or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!"), you sure know how to make us laugh.
Music is your first love. Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day. Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba"). You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night.
Schwingfest is this Saturday and because this year is Musikfest as well, the dance on Saturday night should be a lot of fun. We're hoping to bring you to the dance after Auntie Lucy's... I know Grandma would love to dance around the Swiss Hall with you, showing you off to extended family and friends.
You've been really clingy this past month and since you're not talking yet (although you chatter 24/7), it's hard to know if it's a stage or if you know the baby is coming and you're feeling anxious. Either way, I do my best to give in to your whims and make you as comfortable as possible. Bedtime as been a struggle, so we've added 10 minutes of rocking chair time to your routine. It seems to be just what you need: extra time to cuddle and drift off to sleep in my arms.
We're coming up on the last few weeks as a family of three, so instead of feeling annoyed by extra work, I cherish this time; soaking in every chance I get alone with you before our world changes.
As far as birthday celebrations are concerned, we've been celebrating since this weekend!
Yesterday we had your PEPS friends over for pool time. You loved running around naked with them (pool time quickly went from diaper only to nudist colony) and hanging out in the sun. Once Dad got home, we took you to Tacos Guaymas for beans and rice, over to Greenlake for a dip in the lake, then to Zoe Yogurt for dessert!
This post would have come yesterday evening, but after putting you down last night, you started cough to the point of throwing up (twice!) so with all your sheets exhausted (I should probably have more than two sets) and a sick babe on our hands, we rinsed you off, gave you honey to help with the cough, then you and I slept in the big bed together (even with Dad upstairs, you still managed to take up 80% of a king size bed!)
Today we had your two year appointment:
Height: 32.75" (23 percentile)
Weight: 22 lbs 12.8 oz (6.5 percentile)
You're cruising along, peanut :)
And just for fun, here's a look back at the year:
Happy, happy birthday baby girl. We love you so much.
(I'll share birthday party pictures in the coming days....I'm still recovering!)

It will be so much fun to dance with you at Schwingfest this Saturday. You will recognize some of the pieces which this time you will hear live. I know you will recognize them since you always clap and sing only to your favorites when I play Swiss music in the car.
Your birthday party was remarkable with every detail covered for your theme of Sesame Street. It was so much fun for GPA and me as well as everyone there!
GPA and I send our love and lots of big hugs! GMA
