23 months

This time next month you'll be TWO!

It's been such a fun month.  I'm slowing learning Abanesse (and you're slowly learning English), your hair is long enough for ponytails and pigtails now, and we've been having so much fun playing in the sun with you these past few weeks.

We had a BBQ with our PEPS buddies at Magnuson Park today; you had so much fun playing with your friends, throwing rocks, eating watermelon, and chatting with everyone.  We left around 8pm and you were beat.  You fell asleep on the car ride home with no time to give you a bath (thank goodness for baby wipes!), and hardly managed a diaper change....

A fun day indeed!

***

You're changing so much and becoming such a little girl.  It's so fun to see!  Here are your new news this month:

New words and phrases:
  • "Go Go Go!" when running or walking fast
  • "Ah, Oh, Ee" = 1, 2, 3 (you hold up your pointer finger for one, then your index finger goes down and the rest go up for 2 and 3)  :)
  • "Aye A-E" = Hi Baby
  • "AAAAA DAAAA" = all done
  • "UUH" = muah.  The sound you make when blowing a kiss

You've acquired a taste for hummus and can eat it by the tub!

You eat a whole plate of rice and beans at the Taqueria and can polish off more than half a side of guac too- all in one sitting!

You sing along to Twinkle, Twinkle and Away in the Manger at bedtime (and as I close the door I say, "goodnight Abigail" and you respond "gye!!!")

You love riding elevators, pushing the buttons, flushing toilets, sitting on my lap when I go to the bathroom (so we got you a potty to test out...), draining the bath when you're "AAAA DAAA", riding the bus, sitting in cars pretending to drive, and chatting away in conversation.  So many adorable toddler quirks!

Toys haven't been of much interest, but you love sweeping the floor, watering flowers, and helping with the laundry.

Most of your clothes are 12-18 months.  24 month outfits are still too big, and 2T just looks silly!  (for the record, your shoe size is still a 3)

You broke your top right eye tooth on June 25th, and I just noticed your left one coming in today.

Nap time is pushing out to noon.  On Tuesday's (PEPS) you're usually not down until 1pm and you'll sleep until 4 (I wish we could hang out with your friends every day!)

Enjoying an art car at Fremont's Solstice Fair
Sitting with the big girls at Lucy's 7th birthday party!

You love the frog fountain at U Village
Walking to the car with your new potty

I love you so much and can't wait to celebrate the big two year milestone next month!

PS: Here is a sneak peak at your party invitations.... you love them!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
