3 Months

Here we are again, celebrating yet another month!

This month has been all about routine.  Things are feeling easier (a relative term), and I'm beginning to find my groove.

You continue to be such a happy, chatty little guy.  And so active!  As I write, you are laying on the floor about to roll over (from back to front) at any minute.  I know you'd be upset to find yourself face down, but you sure enjoy moving around and exploring your world.

This month we nursed you through your second cold (arg!)  Abigail's been bringing home lots of toddler germs that she so generously shares with all of us (I'm starting to think there's a direct correlation between her new licking habit and these nasty colds)  Early this weekend was especially hard- you seem to be getting over your cold, but have been struggling with nursing and taking good naps.

I'm so excited to celebrate your first Christmas with you!  It was hard finding a gift (toy wise) that we didn't already have, but I think you will love what we picked out  :)  This month you met Santa and went to your first annual Snowflake Lane with us, Auntie, Uncle Ian, and your cousins.

Here are some fun facts this month:

  • you weigh 13lbs, 8 oz
  • you love playing with toys.  The pink rattle and Eebee are your favorites
  • We've been laying you in Abigail's crib during dinner with the balloon mobile above- you could sit there for hours, flirting shamelessly with that thing.
  • You've stopped clenching your fists as tight, so your sweaty palms are getting better  ;)
  • You love to stand and "walk" (and Abigail loves impersonating your walk)
  • You sleep from 8pm-4am every night, wake for your feeding, then back to bed until 7:30
  • You're on a 2 hour schedule during the day (napping and nursing every two hours)
  • In my arms is your favorite place to snooze
  • You and I spent the majority of naptimes watching Breaking Bad this month :)
  • I'm in love with your sweet baby breath and the comforts of nursing you
  • A bubba and swaying side to side has you asleep in seconds
  • Still a lover of lights!
  • You're wearing 3 month clothes but quickly growing into 6 month sizes
  • You love Abigail and seem unsettled on days she's not around
  • You have the most contagious smile.  Ever!

We have a very big day and week ahead: we're off to Chuck E. Cheese for Oscar's 5th birthday party today, to a Christmas concert where Dad is performing tonight, then The Slam starts tomorrow.

Get ready to party your way to Christmas- a week long bender awaits!

I adore you, sweet boy.  Happy three months.

George is so stinkin cute! Thanks for these posts it gives me a good road map of what I can look forward to. Which is pretty valuable these days, I have forgotten just about everything. Month three looks pretty good :)

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
