Abigail's First Dance Recital

Abigail started a combo dance class this winter and this past weekend we had the pleasure of attending her first dance recital!

They danced to "Can't Stop the Feeling!" and wore little yellow sequin numbers that Abigail just adored and made me all 🙈

(hair, makeup, and tight dresses don't exactly go hand in hand with basic feminism...)

Regardless, she had a great time and we were so proud of her!

As we pulled into the parking lot, nerves got the best of her but luckily I was able to wait with her until she went on.

Some good jewelry making and coloring distractions helped soothe nerves and pass the time.

Here are some pictures from the afternoon (she is on the far left in the stage pictures):

And of course, the video!

Abigail was so happy to be accompanied by her family, and we were so proud of her strength in overcoming fear and the accomplishment of learning the routine plus getting on stage in front of so many people.

You never cease to amaze me, Bitsy Girl.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
