Abigail's First Day of School

Friday was Abigail's first day of school at Sunnybrook Montessori!

She was so excited that morning; backpack full of supplies (it was so heavy, she kept tipping backward), and ready for new adventures!

We were greeted by Miss Holly (her teacher), and a handful of new classmates eager to meet their new classmate (one girl, Adele, tried holding Abigail's hand at the snack table- too cute!) and while Abigail was hesitant to let me leave, she put on her brave face and away she went (an adorably heart breaking Mommy-moment).

I came back at noon, greeted by an ever-eager Abigail, and a huge bear hug. Teacher Holly said she did great; very observant (classic Bits), but reportedly more like a kid who'd been there a week vs. a day.

And boy did I get an earful on the way home!  Abigail couldn't stop talking about "cool" (school) and all the fun things she did that day (circle time, books, snack, playing outside..)

I feel really good about her new school and the experiences she will have here.

Here's to the start of a beautiful friendship!

And just for fun, here's a look back at Abigail's first first day of school

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
