George's First Swim!

Early this week we got a 3 day pass at the YMCA.  Since we're staying with my parents we thought it would be a fun place to take the kids after work and on the weekends.

We were slightly overzealous going into it Tuesday night: we went after work, dropped the kids at the Kids Zone (they did great!), worked out, then went for a family swim.

First of all, going in to a family changing area with a two year old (who's just dying to open the door while you're changing), and a squirmy little 6 month old isn't easy, let alone the fact that after you're done, you have to strip off your own wet clothes as well as said children's, all the while ensuring no one is dropped (6 month old) or runs out of the room while you're stark naked (2 year old).

Two kids gives you such unfortunate insight into how easy you had it with one...  sigh.

Anyway, we will probably never do this again.  It was George's first swim (yay for fun firsts!) and he really seemed to enjoy it.  His little legs started kicking as soon as they met the water.  Abigail on the other hand was not so keen.  She's been going through an I-hate-taking-baths stage, so we somewhat expected it.

And since we're gluttons for punishment, we decided to find a hotel in Leavenworth this weekend with a pool.

But at least we can change in our room, with the deadbolt set..

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...
