As promised, here are some pictures from the past week. (The Lauckner's are getting into the holiday spirit!)
Our celebrations began late last week when Abigail and I went shopping downtown. It was to be a quick, focused errand: gold shoes for Abigail, then back home. Of course it didn't end up that way, and before I knew it, Abigail and I were at Macy's sitting on Santa's lap
I only had the intention of bringing her by to say hi, but of course he asked her to sit, and before I knew it, they were snapping pictures and I was toast. (I'm a salesman's dream; the ice buying Eskimo...) so naturally I was suckered into buying this adorable $20 photo.
Saturday morning Kevin and Abigail drove out to the tree farm to get our Christmas tree while I attended my friend Brooke's baby shower. Abigail had a great time hanging with Henry, riding in the wagon, and laughing as Kevin pretended to hit himself with our tree.
Thanks again for hosting such an awesome annual event, Todd and Adam! We love our tree.
To keep the holiday momentum rolling, we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory Sunday night, followed by Mamie and Papa's first visit to our annual Snowflake Lane tradition. (Anne & Ian, we're back on next year- come rain, babies, birthdays... whatever!)
We could have done without the rain drenched snowflakes, but it was fun and we were able to go back to our table at The Cheesecake Factory afterwards for dessert!
Wandering through the mall on our way home, we saw Santa was still there (with no line!) So Annie, we did what you suggested we start last year: we got our family photo taken with Santa!
Granted it's not the Nordstrom tradition I've played out in my head for years, but we're getting there. Maybe by next year we'll finally get our act together...
Which brings us to this week: Abigail and I have been busy getting ready for our annual Christmas party!
She's been a great help- most of the time....
With the exception of one "Grinch worthy" moment:
But I'll let it slide. All this early celebration has made me a bit Grinchy too...
Enjoy the weekend, and I hope to be back Monday to share Christmas Party pictures before heading to NYC (!!!!!)
