The Holiday Week(end)

Is it just me, or was last Monday an eternity ago?

I loved the week full of parties, days off, and sun, but it sure threw off my idea of a typical week.

We headed to the Clayton's on Tuesday for a fun "3rd of July" BBQ.  I had a cute outfit ready for Abigail, but she ran a fever over the weekend (which lasted until Tuesday), so she didn't make it- but it was great catching up with friends and staying out way too late like the olden days!

The next day we headed over to my parent's place for a 4th of July BBQ, so Abigail got a chance to strut her stuff after all....

This picture cracks me up. Abigail has got to be one of the most stoic kids I've ever met.  And the most adorable... of course!

We enjoyed a lovely evening with both sets of parents, Uncle Bob, great food, views of the Lake Union, Bellevue, Seattle Tennis Club, and Alki fireworks, and some hot tubing.

On Friday, Kevin decided to work from home.  This is usually a bad idea (I hover over him all day..), which is pretty much what happened on Friday.  But it was nice to have him around, and late in the day we were able to start on some house projects.

Which leads me to my next point.  Here's a list of everything we got done this weekend.  (most of it compliments of our Sunday work party team- thanks Mom, Dad, Kirk, Amy, and Uncle Bob!)

-stained the fence
-painted the house. literally.
-weeded the yard.  Which equated to a 92 gallon yard waste container full of dandelions.  Time to throw down seed!
-repaired all the window screens (just in time for the hot weather)

...and a bunch of other little here and there things...

(It makes me tired and sore just reading this!)

And in the midst of our projects, we attended Jamie and Justin's wedding at Newcastle on Saturday night.

It was the perfect night for a beautiful PNW wedding!

Congratulations Jamie and Justin!!!  We had such a great time and will miss you as you move to Oklahoma...  :(

So here it is, Monday morning.  I'm exhausted and sore, but wouldn't trade it for a thing.  Except maybe a few Ibuprofen and an afternoon nap...

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July week(end) and enjoyed the lovely Seattle weather.

...I'm off to seed the yard!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...
