Reunited and it feels so good

As some of you may remember, I made mention of a "remodel" a few months back.

Around Christmas time, we noticed some mold in our bedroom (in the corners of the room where the carpet met).  We had it looked at and found out water was coming through our siding.. caused by our ever-so-lovely shed pulling away from the house.

So this is was what we had to do....

As well as tear out a bunch of drywall in our bedroom, which resulted in an office camp-out the past 2.5 months...

But we kicked butt this weekend and got carpet installed on Monday!

Bitz enjoys abstract modeling  :)

...and as of last night, we're back in our room, sleeping in a normal bed.

It's nothing short of amazing!

Now it's on to phase 2: getting a garage built.

The first step is getting blueprints drawn for our permit (pricey!)  So, after all the lovely feedback I got on past drawings, I decided to take a stab at it...

Based on the prints, I'm expecting a speedy turn around from the city  ;)

We have a few contractors coming this weekend- we hope to have good news soon!

Hooray! So glad you two finally have a big, comfy bed again. Hopefully that means less sleeping on the couch!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
