Put a bird on it

Better yet, how about two...

As many of you remember, we used birds in our wedding centerpieces (quick shout out to the "kev-kev" table!) and had a bride and groom bird as our cake topper (as seen above).  Who'da thought we'd be so hip to the trend ;)

After enjoying our wedding cake on our first anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Bird came out of frozen isolation and back into our junk drawer lives.

And what was I do to with them?

Put a bird on it -- of course!

So this morning I took out Mr. and Mrs. Bird, attached them to our ring pillow/nest, and tied them to our Christmas tree.

A perfect ornament!

I'm so glad I was able to put them to good use; otherwise they may have lived many years in the depths of a junk drawer, covered in dust.

So there you have it: one of many way to...(wait for it)....put a bird on it!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
