After two months in Mommyland, I'm starting to find a rhythm.
Truth be told? It's hard being a first time Mom.
I wanted everything to happen right away (3-4 hours between feedings, long stretches of sleep, and most desperately, a routine), and I worried about e-ver-y-thing, but I'm learning things take time.
Generally speaking, we've been blessed with a good nighttime sleeper, but I struggled with daytime and cluster feedings.
A few weeks ago I decided to let go and let nature take it's course, and I'm happy to report that "nature" is starting to find a routine.
Case in point? A scheduled nap at noon today!
Yesterday I noticed a pattern of fussiness around 11:30, so I put her down for a scheduled nap at noon.
Both times she's slept for about an hour and woke up refreshed.
So, to all you new Moms out there going through first time struggles: put down the books and quit listening to the talking heads.
Let go, relax, and trust your instincts. It will all work out in the end.
At least I hope ;)
