Training for a half marathon

Not me!

Although that's not a bad idea; I could use it...

Kevin decided a few months back to train for the Seattle half marathon in November.  Training just started last week, so we've seen lots sweat and sore muscles around here lately.

And while I am not partaking (I will be there on race day as a cheerleader), I decided to contribute by turning our kitchen chalk board into a training calendar for Kevin.

A fun way to help him stay on track while keeping my infamous to-do list at bay (funny how taking those tasks off the board helps me relax).  It's a win/win!

And as a fun addition to the calendar, I added a motivational section at the bottom:

Every week, Abigail's cut-out shares a few words on encouragement to Dad (I know, I have too much time on my hands...)

So wish Kevin luck on his training; it's going to be hard, but I know he can do it!

We'll update you again in November, post run!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
