Mother's Day, yard work party, and a soccer game

Okay, so technically I'm not a Mom yet, but Kevin could have fooled you yesterday.  I woke up to breakfast in bed, a sweet handwritten Mother's Day card from Kevin, and the bed tray you see below as my gift!  I've wanted this tray for a while... so it was very thoughtful of him!

After an amazing breakfast in bed, we headed to Home Depot for a few last minute items before the official work party.  Got tons done: hedge planted, perennials planted, back fence removed, a few transplanted items, and lots of overall organizing.  The pictures below are from Sunday's work party.

After a few hours in the yard, we headed out to Victor's soccer game at Woodland Park, then treated everyone to Burgermaster.... fancy Mother's Day dinner, I know.

All in all, a successful weekend.  We got a bunch of stuff done around the house, and are about 90% done with the yard.  Final picture below was taken today: day one of the deck build!!

That's all for now.  Sleepy day, so I'm off to bed early tonight.  Have a great week, and we'll update as work on the deck progresses!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

A Suburban NYE

We partied hard with neighbors for New Year's Eve this year, and it was perfect - no need to dress up, tackle crowds, or spend big bucks - add to that great friends who are also neighbors, and it's a win/win.
