Hi Everyone! Since Amy is in town, I took Friday off to enjoy a nice long weekend. Lots to blog about (including an amazing baby shower thrown by my Aunt Lucy!), but first I wanted to share a framing project I did on Friday. Here's a picture of our dining room pre-project; boring and colorless.
I got the idea here and wanted to share it with all of you! A few weeks ago I bought three frames (IKEA- only $15 each!), and a poster from allposters.com. The project cost me a total of $80, but it was worth it for personalized art.
Step 1: find a poster that will measure long enough in length and width for the frames and matting you plan to use
Step 2: Stage out each "frame" with the mats (or glass if you are not using mats) and pencil the lines where each frame will begin and end
Step 3: Cut along the penciled lines. I prefer cutting with scissors by hand, but an Exacto knife works too; personal preference
Step 4: Determine where on the poster you want each image framed, then carefully tape the back of the posters to the matting. Once secured, cut access poster and place images in frames.
Step 5: Hang the art on your wall for all to enjoy! I eyed it, but you can measure your wall and use a level; I was being lazy ;)
Below is the final product. I love it!
It brought just the warmth we were looking for to the dining room, and for a fraction of the price!
