20 weeks!

Happy 20 weeks kiddo, we're half way there!  I can't believe it, time has flown by!  But, to 20 week's credit, I'm feeling more pregnant, looking more pregnant, and acting more pregnant every day.  For example, I decided as a 20 week treat, baby and I would listen to my favorite Paul Simon album on the way into work this morning.  And ya know what happened?  I cried!  Yep, hormones are in full effect.  Below is a picture taken last night.  Kevin kept insisting we take belly pics, so I finally caved.

Also, at this half way point I wanted to share a few tid bits about our pregnancy so far.  Figured bullet points would be easier than my usual ramblings.  Oh and we find out the sex tomorrow....I'll be posting the news on Sunday or Monday!

Changes in the last 20 weeks

-I can feel baby's kicks and flutters…. precious

-I don’t fit past the opening to our supply door at work any longer. Now I have to wait for someone to close it before I can pass

-I walk slower. I notice this on walks with Kevin or walking down to get breakfast with my co-worker Mandy in the mornings

-Allegedly, this baby has grown from a poppy seed to a small cantaloupe in a mere 20 weeks. Starting to think about exit strategies …

-Jumping just feels weird!

-My hair and nails are growing like Rapunzel

-A full night’s sleep is a thing of the past. And poor Kevin seems to be waking up with me every time…

-These days, I feel pregnant all day and not just late at night. I love it!

-Today (exactly 20 weeks) I wore my first pair of maternity pants! They feel a little funny, but it’s gotten me out of tights.

-I don’t crave particular foods but enjoy eating 24/7.

-I LOVE being pregnant!

-I finally have my energy back, but still a sucker for afternoon naps

-Nesting mode is now in full effect (as if I wasn’t OCD before!)

-I haven’t caved into the maternity t-shirts yet, but mine are starting to look like this….

Alright, that's all for now....boy/girl verdict will be here tomorrow!  And as mentioned before, we have a reservation for a "boy" restaurant and a "girl" restaurant....can't wait to find out which one we'll be going to!

Keep taking pictures of your pregnant self. One each month until d-day. Take it from me, you will regret it if you don't. So happy to hear that things are going so well. It makes it so much easier. Lucy has already put on her match making hat if you have a girl. Maxwell should be so lucky!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
