Mykonos

Mykonos was a short, but fun leg of our trip. While it's not really our style (more centered around night life, partying, ect) we enjoyed some serious people watching (Super Paradise Beach!) and had fun hanging out in Little Venice.
We had ferry delays getting out of Paros, but a driver was waiting for us upon arrival. Dragged our luggage off the gangway with hundreds of other eager travelers and quickly found the guy with our sign. Hopped in the van and we were off a few minutes later.
Mykonos has a pretty cool port...it's right near the main part of town (typically refereed to as Mykonos Town, or Little Venice) with hills directly above. The road we took to our hotel went over these hills and gave us an awesome view of the island below.
Checked in and relaxed for a moment before tossing on the suits and hitting the beach. Nice room....more basic than the others, but practical and in good proximity to Platis Gialos beach.

Like everything in Mykonos, the beach was crowded, but after a quick lunch, we found two open chairs and laid out for the remainder of the afternoon

I've seen lots of pictures of Little Venice and the windmills, so I was eager to get into town. We left our place by late afternoon, but not before getting "jazzed up" for the evening. After all, this is Mykonos! Below is a photo shoot of Kevin...gettin' into the groove ;)

With popped collar and aviators in hand, we set out for the windmills to watch the sunset. Pretty views, but very crowded.

Down in Little Venice, we made our way through the narrow streets and wandered through the small shops.

We settled in at a bar with amazing view of the town and sea!

Over to our right, large yachts passed every few minutes and once in a while, they would cause some huge waves...we got a kick out of seeing people get soaked :) Would have been fun sitting down there, albeit a bit wet!

Left the bar and headed out for dinner. We read about Queen, a high end champagne bar, but prices were outrageous and all tables reserved so we moved on.

Settled on Coco, a swanky, but delicious sushi restaurant!!

Cruised around town after dinner then headed home to wake up early for a full beach day, or so we thought!...

Instead, we got back to our hotel and decided to stroll the beach. The market was still open, so we grabbed some beer and headed to the water. It was perfect! Stars were shinning above and it was just us, a sea of empty beach chairs, and the lapping of waves...silence and perfection!

Our evening ended around 4am when we quickly remembered the sun would be rising soon!

Next morning it was off to Super Paradise beach...the epitome of Mykonos ;)

Headed back late in the afternoon and took it easy since we had a plane to catch in the morning. Overall, a short but great time in Mykonos!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Merry Christmas!

May your day be Merry and Bright!

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
