Month of Bumps (25-28 weeks)

Another month, and more growing bump!

Wednesday I turned 28 weeks, which puts us in the 3rd trimester and the thought of being on the home stretch has me so excited to meet you!

I have yet to go through your brother's clothes, take out any baby stuff to examine or fix, or even start shopping for the new car seat we need (the one I used with Abigail and George molded in our new shed...Grrr).  But it doesn't discount how excited I am to hold you in my arms (in what I hope will be) a mere 12 weeks!

The fatigue has not gone away, but I haven't been sleeping great (lots of achey hips at night; a lovely side effect of subsequent pregnancies) so that may be a big contributor.  I just ordered a 2" memory foam topper and I hope between that and massage therapy, I am able to get some relief.

Massage therapy...oh, the things us Moms have to endure  ;)

In pregnancy related news, I was reading the blog yesterday and realized I had posted about the end of my 2nd Trimester with George on this very day 2 years ago.

Here's the post

It's so fun that you two will have birthdays close so together (although hopefully with a few day spread..) We'll have our August birthday extravaganza, then a September burst as well.

Busy is our middle name around here!

Speaking of busy, this month's pictures got away from me, and for the first time ever, I (gasp!) skipped a weekly bump picture.  Late last week and early this week I debated cheating and taking the picture, but I figured this is all part of the story; a growing bump, busy life, and missed deadlines.

It's our season of life.

(But does drive me a little crazy)  ;)

Anyway, here they are:

I promise there are days I actually do my hair! But it's becoming a rarity...

Love you, Baby Boy!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
