Four Years

Today marks our four year anniversary and Kevin and I are off to Leavenworth to celebrate. While nothing fancy is planned (a kid-free weekend is glamorous enough!) we are looking forward to dinner at Visconti's and lots of sleep  :)

Since we will be gone tonight, we watched our wedding video last night.  It was enchanting to watch Abigail ask Kevin to dance at each song, and wave eagerly as she saw so many familiar faces on TV.

It always surprises me how fun it is to watch each year. Seeing our loved ones captured in that moment still takes my breath away.

Moreover, it was delightful to see my niece and nephew time capsuled as little 20 month and 4 year olds, practically the same age Abigail and George are now.  It makes me appreciate both the time that has passed, and the amazing memories of them at these adorable ages.

These past four years have made me a Mom, alright!

Looking over past anniversaries (one, two, and three) I see how each year has been chalked full of excitement, and I don't see that slowing down anytime soon.

I love that about us, Kev!

Happy anniversary, my love!

Just when we thought the last 3 years were busy, we picked up even more speed. Our life has been so fun and exciting and I hope it stays that way for a long, long time.

...although getting a certain 10 month old to sleep more would certainly help us better enjoy it ;)

I love the life we are creating. I look at you, Abigail, and George each day and am so thankful for this life. As we grow together on this journey I promise to continue searching for grace in hard times, and patience in the chaos.

(Lord knows we could use it!)

All my love to you on this very special day. Thank you for being the incredible husband that you are.

Here's to more beautiful chaos!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
