14 months

It took me a minute to do the math and figure out that indeed, yesterday was your 14 month mark.  As I once mentioned in Abigail's 13 month post, it gets confusing and a little weird to continue counting months past a year, but alas, here I am  :)

We got back from Leavenworth tonight and had lots of fun spending time with Grandma and Grandpa this weekend.  It was cold (around 15 degrees each morning!) so time outside was limited, but you had lots of fun playing in the house Dad made (with the right amount of creativity, a 5 drawer dresser box can yield hours of fun!) and laughing as we played with the helicopter in the living room (you and Sissy get such a kick out of watching it go way up in the sky).

This month I've noticed a lot of intellectual growth, so it's been fun teaching you new things (you love the challenge and think it's pretty funny too!)

Here are your new news this month:

  • When we say "GG, night night" you lay your head on the floor with a big smile on your face, pretending to sleep
  • You give kisses on demand and sometimes make this adorable little kissing noise
  • You learned to High 5
  • You're really good at basic puzzles and shape sorters
  • You love dancing!  Spinning in circles with your arms stretched behind you is your signature move.  No one in this family has the monopoly on dance moves  ;)
  • New words: "nana" (banana), "boh" (book), "bah" (ball), and lots of hi and bye!
  • You've started to stretch your morning nap to around 10am and sometimes skip your afternoon nap.  Two naps a day will be a thing of the past before I know it.
  • You and Abigail have begun playing together a little more; pushing each other in the car, chasing each other around the house, and reading books, but you still wreak havoc on most of her play: building towers, stacking blocks up high, playing house, and putting together puzzles.  My little Godzilla!
  • Pomegranate is your new favorite food!  We discovered that this weekend after you ate a whole half in one sitting (and yelled for more when you were done)
  • Current favorite foods (aside from pomegranate): bagels, raisins, pirates booty, lettuce (weird, I know), and most any veggie (lucky me- for now!)
  • Your balance is amazing: you run on the couch, walk easily over transitions, and have no problem on uneven surfaces at parks and in messy living rooms :)
  • You're fearless at the park; climbing up the stairs and going down the slide over and over again.  Sissy and I get nervous watching you sometimes!

You are such a sweet little boy.  On a regular basis people stop me in stores to get your attention (waving to you, saying "hi") or to tell me what a handsome, happy boy you are.

And they're right - you are!

We're gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas (I can't believe it!) and are enjoying the cooler weather.  It's been in the low 30's this past week, so all we need is a little precipitation and we'd have some snow...  you would love running around, eating it, and throwing it at a perturbed Sissy, no doubt  :)

I love you, and am so proud to be your Mommy, Georgia Boy.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
