Back to School

The Lauckner kids are back to school and I'm back to being officially over-scheduled.

'Tis the season!

Abigail went back the day after Labor Day and the boys went back earlier this week.  Below are pictures of everyone's first days, if you'd like to see.

Abigail

How is this little girl already in First Grade?!

Abigail started off the year all smiles and excitement - she was thrilled (but nervous as usual) to see all her friends and check out her new teacher and classroom.  I was able walk her in, which is always a treat, but soon enough she was ready for me to leave.

I am so excited to see her progress this year - she's such a determined kid and I know she'll do great!

George

Now here's a kid that loves school!

He was pretty disappointment last week watching Sissy go to school each day, but he finally got his turn this week.

George has been eager for Mrs Deily's class since Abigail had her two years ago and was thrilled to finally be in PreK.  Being as it's his third year in the preschool classroom he was incredibly comfortable and ready to go within minutes.  He actually was dissapoinment when he found out his first day was slow start and that I would be there (sorry bud!)

George can't wait to start lunch bunch this year and is so excited to finally be able to skip naps!  PreK is a year of tremendous growth and I just know George will do wonderfully.

Ben

Oh Hei Hei, how I've waited for this day.... 😉

Ben has been watching his siblings go to school since he was born, so he was all too familiar with the process, yet oh-so excited.  He wanted to wear a nice outfit for his first day so he chose his favorite shirt with a bow tie, hat, and his Power Ranger gloves.

I took him in his first day and while all the other kids and parents were crying as they departed, Ben went right on in and I happily walked right out - ha!

Joking aside this kid has been ready for school for a long time and I can't wait to see how his first year goes.  He tends to be aggressive and a bit overly assertive at home, so I'm hoping school will help mellow his out - time will tell...

On our way to school, Day 1!

Mrs Harig and Mrs Glaze

And so here I am - back to the grind with three kids in school, but all at different times (Abigail goes all day, Ben goes Tues and Thurs mornings, and George is every day but afternoons).

So while I was ready for summer to end, now I'm in the midst of ALLLLLLLL the schedules.

Such is life!

I hope you and your kiddos enjoyed your first days back, too  ðŸ“š

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
