Christmas, 2016

I suppose early February is as good of time as any to get started on our Christmas post  ๐Ÿ˜‰

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration this year!

While most of Kevin's family wasn't around to celebrate with us, we had Mamie and Papa over on Christmas Eve and they spent the night, enjoying Christmas morning with us as well.  As always, Mamie came stocked with Christmas cookies for the kids to decorate, and we enjoyed lots of delicious food and festivities.

After dinner we decorated cookies and opened presents from family friends as well as the big haul from Mamie and Papa!

George quickly claimed this for himself ๐Ÿ˜

Once the kids were down, we assisted Santa in the process of Barbie-house-building, then once complete, headed immediately off to bed (at MIDNIGHT ๐Ÿ˜ณ)

The kids were eager to get downstairs the next morning, so once George and Abigail were awake (5:45am!) we woke everyone else up and headed down to check out the loot!

Along with stockings full of goodies, Abigail scored a Barbie dream house, George got the PJ Masks Headquarters, and Ben got an alligator ball popper.

They all loved their Santa gifts!

Once the house was back in order, breakfast was eaten, and the car was packed, we parted ways with Mamie and Papa and it was off to Leavenworth for a week of fun in the snow.

Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Victor, Aunt Catherine, and Catherine's parents were there to greet us, and the kids went immediately for the gifts.  We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon filled with gifts, eggnog, snow, bonfires, and a delicious Christmas dinner.

Greeted by the wild turkeys near the old barn

The next morning Victor, Catherine, and her parents left, but Kevin had the whole week off, so we were able to spend a ton of quality family time together.

Here are some pictures from the rest of the snow-filled week.

Happy Holidays!

We hope your season was filled with all the laughter, love, and family it so deserves.

(now I can finally check "Christmas post" off my to-do list! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
