Leavenworth Double Header

We just got back from our second weekend in Leavenworth.

We hadn't been up there since Kevin's birthday in August, so it was nice to get back and relax. Plus, it was Benjamin's first time, so that made it extra special.

Round 1:

We spent the first weekend with my parents.  My Dad brought he and Abigail's Cobras to the house, so the kids spent the weekend driving their little car around.  Abigail mainly drove.  George would at times try, but his loyalty lay with the train toys he had clenched in his hand, so steering was a second  priority ;)

We also took the kids to Smallwood farm to get pumpkins and ride the cow train (I love me some cow train!)

And to make it even more special, we celebrated Benjamin's one month birthday that Friday night.  One month "zero" birthday candle, and all :)

birthday boy!

Looks like Benny wanted to blow his own candle out ;)

Taking shade Friday afternoon

We ran out of batteries, so Abigail pushed the swing.  Best big sis!

Kevin had to tow George from his first accident :)

AAA to the rescue!

Ready to go!

He wasn't amused...

Pooped from a weekend of fun

Round 2:

This past weekend, Victor and Catherine joined us to celebrate Victor's birthday.  The weekend was spent together carving pumpkins, lighting bonfires, and enjoying an afternoon in town with the birthday boy.

We have been enjoying all things Fall these past few weeks and are really looking forward to Halloween this weekend!  Mamie and Papa are hosting their annual neighborhood party, so we decided to join them this year.

Abigail can't wait to go trick-or-treating with her cousins, and I can't wait to dress my kids up as Minions!

Stay tuned, and Happy Halloween

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
