Father's Day, 2015

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day this year! Since the actual day fell on the Sunday of the US Open (here at Chamber's Bay, none the less!), Kevin spent the day with his Dad out at the course, so we celebrated a day early. As per an increasingly impossible tradition, I made him breakfast in bed.  Abigail has been coming into our room at night to sleep, and apparently she was moving all over the bed the night before, so Kevin ditched us and went to go sleep in her bed. (and here I thought he was just trying to sleep in!) We brought him coffee and the gift Abigail made for him, then thought better of the whole breakfast in bed fiasco and just ate downstairs  :) Abigail made him a kite and card, so after breakfast we hit the streets to test out Dad's new toy! We spent the later part of the day on Bainbridge.  The kids LOVED riding the ferry (it had been a while!) and had fun going to the toy store in town, strolling ar...

Month of Bumps (25-28 weeks)

Another month, and more growing bump! Wednesday I turned 28 weeks, which puts us in the 3rd trimester and the thought of being on the home stretch has me so excited to meet you! I have yet to go through your brother's clothes, take out any baby stuff to examine or fix, or even start shopping for the new car seat we need (the one I used with Abigail and George molded in our new shed...Grrr).  But it doesn't discount how excited I am to hold you in my arms  (in what I hope will be) a mere 12 weeks! The fatigue has not gone away, but I haven't been sleeping great (lots of achey hips at night; a lovely side effect of subsequent pregnancies) so that may be a big contributor.  I just ordered a 2" memory foam topper and I hope between that and massage therapy, I am able to get some relief. Massage therapy...oh, the things us Moms have to endure  ;) In pregnancy related news, I was reading the blog yesterday and realized I had posted about the end of my 2nd Trime...

21 months

Hi George! I missed writing your 20 month post (we were in Hawaii), but I'm back and have so much to tell you about these past 2 months. You are becoming such a strong willed, determined little guy.  To a fault at times, but as a strong personality myself, I (mostly) find it endearing and adorable.  When you get set in your ways, there's no chance of re-directing you; what you want is what you're going to get! Grandpa believes our strong will / stubbornness is a Serbian gene.  I think he's probably right!  Your Great Grandpa Nickinovich and his brothers and sisters (5 in total) were all this way.  At least, at this point, there are only 2 of us  ;) Here are some fun things that have developed these past two months: You are pointing and naming everything.  If you don't know the name, you usually just say "dat!" You weaned last month (20 months).  One day you just decided you were too big for that now :) You love PJ's.  I have to ...

Kaua'i

Back on Valentine's Day , we decided that before Baby 3 makes his way into the world, a week away would be essential. We love Maui and have so many great memories there, but we wanted to try something new and had been curious about Kaua'i. It was beautiful! Aptly named the Garden Isle, we were surrounded by jungle-like vegetation, Jurassic worth mountain peaks, and complete with an overdose of wild chicken! We left Seattle early Friday morning and returned the following Saturday.  Having 8 nights away was such a luxury and helped us really settle into relaxation-mode. Highlights include a boat ride up the Napali Coast, renting a beach bungalow for a few days to relax by the ocean, lots of great meals (the Grand Hyatt patio, Tortilla Republic, The Dolphin, The Crack, and Shrimp Factory being among our favorites), and a drive to the Waimea Canyon. While there, Kevin got familiar with iMovie and put together this little video: Also, here are some (out of order) ...
