18 months

Joe!

You're a year and a half.  This is crazy.

This month your little quirks have started emerging and it's so fun to see.  Your robot sheets are your favorite (who knew an 18 month old could have a fav pair of sheets!), you love walking on the street instead of the sidewalk, you insist on wearing your navy puffy coat or bear sweater regardless of how warm it is outside, you get annoyed SO easily (whomever do you get that from?!) and most recently, you've become SUPER attached to me.  This isn't so much a quirk as an age thing, but it sure makes carving out me-time difficult  (sigh.)

Here are some new news this month!

  • You can reach your light switch from your crib and love flipping it on and off when you wake up in the morning (party time!)
  • You yell at other kids on the playground.  I believe you think it's yours since half the time there are no other kids there when we go play
  • You've also begun pushing Sissy when she makes you mad.  For better or worse, you're learning to assert yourself  :)
  • I turned your car seat forward this month (to get you and Abigail away from each other) and you LOVE IT.  Seriously, 7th heaven!
  • You are still more than slightly obsessed with Princess Anna and TV remotes
  • You can eat a whole bag of dried strawberries in one sitting.  They are by far your favorite snack.
  • You've begun walking down steps independently
  • Bedtime is at 6:30 and you crave it (we all do!) and you sleep 13 hours straight
  • You take 3 hour naps if I can manage to put you down by 11:30am
  • You would watch Curious George 24/7 if I let you.  It's your third obsession in life  :)

Checking out your new forward-facing carseat  :)

I love you so much and am having such fun with you these days!

You, me, and Sissy have become quite the Monday-Friday team and it's so fun running around with you guys.

The Three Amigos  :)

Happy Year and a Half, baby boy.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
