15 months

Hi Boyfriend!

Yet another month has passed and it's been a busy one.

We have been spending lots of time in Leavenworth (a place where you don't sleep well, making for loooong weekends), and getting ready for Christmas by decorating the house, meeting Santa, and playing with ornaments on the tree (this one is by far your favorite, which of course makes Sissy mad since "it's mine, GG!!")

Oh, the joy of the holidays  :)

And while we've been having a great month, a 105 degree fever and ear infection landed you at Children's Hospital last Monday night.  It was a rough week but you were full of cuddles, so I can't say I hated every minute  :)

We had your 15 month appointment last week too. You're 31.75" (74%), and 22lbs, 5.5oz (45%) and doing great!

Here are your New News this month:

  • I haven't taught you much sign language, but you've started signing "Jesus" for "more".  (I didn't teach that to you) It makes me laugh every time!
  • You climb EVERYTHING (Gma and Gpa's oven was your latest feat)
  • And you're strong and smart enough to open the refrigerator, dish washer, and dryer. You keep me busy!
  • Dad wants to get your hair cut, but I can't stand the thought (Viva La Baby Wings!)
  • You broke two molars and are up to 8 teeth now
  • Favorite books: Elmo's Big Book, Touch and Feel Puppy, and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
  • You're a dancing machine and love the songs on your puppy guitar
  • You're learning animal sounds: cat, dog, horse, pig, snake, duck, cow, and monkey
  • Starting to say "more" at meals (or sign for Jesus) ;)
  • You insist on a spoon or fork at mealtime and prefer cups to sippys
  • You love pointing out when something is "ha!" (hot)
  • 50% of the time you're taking one nap a day.  Makes planning hard!
  • Your nick names are growing: GG, GG Boy, Georgia Boy, Geej, JJ, Joe (Joe is my fav!)

Christmas is almost here and Dad and I have the most adorable present planned for you and Sissy.

I can't wait to see your reaction!

I love you, Geej.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
