Oh Happy Day!

I come bearing great news:   the baby has flipped!! We went to our 38 week appointment today and Dr. Harvey confirmed Baby's head is down and that I'm 1cm dilated and 50% effaced (for those who like the details)  ;) I feel incredibly happy and humbled.  These past 2 weeks have been an agonizing process of obsession, tears, and worry, so I feel extremely grateful for such good news. I'm in a total state of awe at my body and Baby's ability to do what needs to be done in such a timely fashion. So thank you to everyone who sent well wishes our way.  We are so grateful for your love and support! We're ready when you are, Baby  :)

Lake Wenatchee

Happy Birthday, Kevin! We spent an awesome 4 days on Lake Wenatchee this past weekend; relaxing by the lake, (attempting) to fish, playing in the water, and enjoying quality time together as a family.  Our parents joined us on Saturday afternoon to celebrate Kevin's birthday; a wonderful day full of family, food, and the great outdoors. Weekend highlights include Fish Lake on Friday (Abigail and i will not be invited back for the next fishing adventure...we may have mangled the line more than once), a trip into Leavenworth for pizza and dancing at the gazebo, a steak feast for Kevin's birthday, and relaxing by the bonfire that evening. Here are some pictures of our trip. Friday at Fish Lake "helping" Dad with his tackle While Kevin fished, Abigail and I fed Parmesan garlic pita chips to the ducks. At one point, we had a crowd of 10! Ladies of leisure on the lake  :) This sums up our fishing experience... Thursday evening f...

Month of Bumps (33-36 weeks)

Alright Little One, we need to talk! Things have been going great.  You've been treating me well, getting good grades at your doctor appointments, and being a fun, easy pregnancy, but we had a hiccup on Monday that we need to discuss. You flipped breech. Not cool. While driving home late Saturday night I felt a huge movement (this was big enough for me to start Googling "early labor signs"), and come Monday morning, Dr. Koala thought you may have flipped.  Low and behold she got the ultrasound out to confirm, and it was true; you're full breech. I can't say I'm surprised (I'm really not exaggerating when I say you move all the time! ) but I'm hoping you flip back before our next appointment this coming Monday.  I think you may have turned back as I was driving out of the parking lot after our appointment, but I can't tell for sure.  I can however confirm that you've moved around about 110 times since the appointment, so who's to ...

Celebrating 33

As most of you know, my birthday follows Abigail's by 5 days (and Kevin's 6 days after mine!), so this past weekend was spent celebrating my special day ( wahoo! ) We spent Friday on the boat with Steph and Reid; playing around in the water and going to Kid Valley for dinner.  Abigail had a great time counting to three as the guys jumped off the boat and even got a bit overconfident at times, leaning off the back. She loves playing with the prop lever Saturday was Schwingfest (an annual Swiss festival / family reunion) where we spent a fun afternoon at the park, and an evening full of family time at Aunt Lucy's. It's one of my favorite days of the year! watching the boys wrestle at the park Telling secrets with Daddy (while gagging herself?...) Then came Sunday- my birthday! Kevin and Kirk were asked by the Nature Consortium to play at their annual festival, so we spent the morning there.  Highlights include a fairy parade, watching K...

Abigail Street

For Abigail's second birthday, we celebrated her favorite friends (Bert, Ernie, Grover, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster) with a Sesame Street themed party! Unlike last year, she really noticed the details, so it was a lot of fun putting this party together.  Special items included two huge Big Bird and Elmo balloons, a bubble machine (that was a hit with all the kids!), Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad (birthday girl's favorites), and a handmade banner that took  5 hours waaaay too long to make  :) We invited Abigail's closest friends, a few of her baby friends, and lots of family over for a party which tipped the scale at 40+ (so much for that low-key plan...) Here are some pictures from the day.  I'm not sure if she'll remember this party some day, but I sure will... being pregnant and hauling tables, tents, and chairs around; making over sized banners, and cutting numerous decor items isn't exactly what 35 week preg...
