Mother's Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day weekend.  Whether celebrating or being celebrated, I hope it served you well!

We spent the weekend celebrating Mom's each day: A Mom-athon, lasting Friday through Sunday!

Friday night we went to Anne and Ian's for a Mother's Day BBQ to celebrated Mamie!

Abigail had a blast playing with her cousins and having a slumber party with Lucy at Mamie and Papa's.  Highlights include black and blue burgers, 3 bags of fries (...it's what happens when the pregnant lady is put in charge of carbs), and watching Charlie and Abigail share their meal (we sat their highchairs next to each other, so they enjoyed grabbing off each other's trays)

We left around 9pm to Abigail biding us farewell "G-eye" while eating Cheetos, drinking milk, and watching Shrek 3 with Lucy.  She thought she was pretty cool  (we agree!)

Saturday was spent celebrating my Mom!

We met my parents Saturday morning and headed to Leavenworth for the day to meet with the contractor (more on that later), bask in the sun, take turns water witching (the bars crossed over my stomach when I tried!), and enjoy the beautiful, 90 degree weather.

After the meeting we went to town for lunch at Cafe Christa before making our way home.  Lucky for us, my parents drove so Kevin and I took naps on the way back  :)

Then came Sunday!

The day started with breakfast in bed (Bits joined and we watched Artisocat's while eating), then a casual day relaxing at home, followed by a late brunch at Salty's (my Mother's Day surprise!)

It was Kevin's first time to Salty for brunch.  He was smiling ear to ear after taking a tour of the buffet and commented: "it's a buffet from Heaven!"

He was impressed  :)

And so was Abigail!  She didn't care for the crab, but loved the mac and cheese (duh), and the chocolate fountain (double duh).

Kevin and Abigail,

Thank you for such a fun, memorable Mother's Day.  I am one lucky Mama and love you two so much!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
