Under the Sea

In honor of Abigail's favorite song (and because we bought a membership that we've only used once), we went to the Aquarium last weekend.

Abigail had more fun this time;  she is starting to pay more attention to things, so she was delighted to see all the jellyfish, starfish, octopus, and sea otters.

Of course, they we all Ca's in her book.

The Aquarium adventure begins by kissing the fish.
Good call, Bits.

Pit stop to the gift shop
She was not amused by the shark mask.  She wanted it off immediately

Touching star fish
The next series of pictures crack me up.

One of the volunteers was explaining the difference between male and female jellyfish.  I don't remember it making a huge impression on me, but apparently it did...

Inquisitive
Shocked
Satisfied
 Abigail was equally intrigued.

(we spent the majority of our time at the jellyfish tank...)

Then it was on to Octopus!

Creepy

Heading outside to see the sea otters, seals, and native fish
She was obsessed with the seals and kept repeating "Ca, Ca, Ca!!", desperately

The Sea Otters got a similar reaction

After the aquarium, we went to ride the carousel (we're too cheap to go on The Great Wheel).

I never knew Abigail was such a fan of carousel's until we went to Zoo Lights, so I thought it would be fun to bring her again.

She had a ball!

and was equally entranced by all the lights and sounds of the arcade.

First attempt at a family photo booth.
We left room for improvement...

Abigail walked with me hand-in-hand from the arcade to the Argosy boat; an impressive feat for the munchkin(!), then over to Red Robin for dinner.

We were in the car and heading home by 6pm.  Abigail was so whipped that she slept from 6pm-8am.

We'll be doing this again.  Soon!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
