Halloween: Part 1

We're knee deep in Halloween 2012!

It's fun celebrating with a toddler who seems to understand the concept of dress-up.  I've been able to suit her up as both Pepples Flinstone and a fish without complaint.

Saturday night Elle and Vanessa hosted a fun Halloween party where Kevin, myself, Abigail, Dan, Anne, and Henry went as The Flintstones.  It was so much fun going as a group, and the kids had a great time at the party; playing with drum sticks, dinosaurs, and party straws.

Two pre-party pictures of the gang:

Abigail and Henry partied until 10:30pm!  Abigail loved watching everyone dance in the dining room (we even joined for a bit).  She would sit on her knees, rocking back and forth, and smile from ear to ear.  It was adorable.

She also attempted to ride Henry earlier in the night. I look over and there's Henry crawling around, Abigail positioned by his side, one leg up over his back.  I guess he looked sturdy enough  ;)

Last year I was on a picture taking spree, but with Abigail glued to my hip this time, I only managed a few pirated Facebook pictures (thanks Erin!)

We continued our celebrations with a PEPS Halloween party at Kristin & Maeve's today.

Abigail was a fish, Brogan was a bear (complete with a "rawr"), Griffin was an Olympic Medalist (complete with metals and a bouquet), Oonagh was a unicorn, Jake was a monkey, and Maeve was a flower.

You just wanna squeeze 'em!

Abigail's best bud.  She and Brogan share a love for food.
Today I traded off feeding them Mac and Cheese- bite for bite

Doggy!  Otherwise known as "A-Ca!"

Then it was time for the group picture....

At least we tried...

Before leaving, Kristin handed out goody bags for the kids.  Two monster toys, some stickers, and a snack bar.

Abigail's favorite was the sticker- she ate it.

Tonight we gear up for Halloween 2012: Part 2.

Kevin decided his Fred Flinstone mu mu dress is the most comfortable thing ever, so we'll be donning our Flinstone costumes at Mamie and Papa's tomorrow night, then Thursday we've got one last party at Preschool.

These babies really know how to pack in the Halloween fun, so stay tuned!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
