Grandma's Diary

Sent to us while in LA:

(Email title:  "over the river and through the woods...!)

Dancing music notes

Well - ok, no "river" and not a genuine "woods" but... off to Grandma and Grandpa's house we go......

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

We waved goodbye to you then drove to GMA and GPA's house.  I sang some of the way and giggled at GMA and GPA's singing.  We got there and I crawled through almost all the rooms on the main floor, drank one of GPA's delicious fruit drinks mixed with the milk you sent then got sleepy about the same time as GPA.  We both took a nap at 8:15AM......and woke up about an hour later.
I have been eating everything - cheeses, squash, milk, .....but most of all I love the cut up grapes you sent with me.  I have been talking to the neighbor who bought the Cox's house and he thought I was really cute.  While GMA was talking to him, I waved to the UPS man and he waved back and smiled!  I wave to everyone I see just incase they feel like waving too.
Tomorrow I go to the walking ladies luncheon to celebrate Chris Christofferson's 83rd. birthday.  They are Grandparents and live a block away .  They will have lots of toys there for me to play with.
I have been crawling all over the house.  It's also fun to see my new friend in the mirrors.  She looks almost identical to me.  You can see her in the picture GMA sent to you from her phone.  We love to clap our hands together as we look at each other in the mirror.
GMA only had my socks on this AM so I went through my bag and pulled out my pink sneakers and tried to put them on myself.  She finally helped me.  I've been wearing them all day!
My afternoon nap didn't start until 3:00 since I had so many places to crawl and climb, but I slept two hours.
Guess who weighs 20.5 pounds!!!!!!!  No it is not Minnie.
I Love you so much,
Abigail
GMA and GPA also send their love!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...

five months

Happy #5, Benny Boy! You have grown up so much this past month, and in the sweetest ways possible.  You adore a good tickle or friendly face and can't seem to soak in the world around you enough; every time I look at you, your eyes are quickly scanning the room, working hard to put all the pieces together. A smart little guy, you are  :) This month I moved you to the nursery.  It was becoming increasingly difficult to put Abigail and George to bed at night, but putting them together in a room has made bedtime simple - they love being together.  As such, you now have your own room!  It's so sweet being back in a nursery with a little one.  Since George was in our bedroom until he was 5 months, then living at Gma and Gpa's for another 6 months, he wasn't in his own room until his first birthday.  So, in many ways, having you in a nursery reminds me so much of my first time around the Motherhood block, and many nights it fills me with such joy just...
