cream and fat: doctor's orders

Abigail had her one year wellness check last Thursday, weighting 17lbs, 14oz (that's a whopping 14 oz gain in the last 3 months) As a result, she's been put on a strict diet: milk shakes, cream, fatty ground beef, mac and chesse with extra butter and cheese, and just about anything your dream "no calories count" day would consist of. The trick will be cooking all this fatty goodness and not gaining weight with her! Our next appointment is in 3 months- let's hope Miss Petite has put on a few pounds by then  :)

Sunday Funday

Just a typical weekend afternoon, playing with her toys, donning her favorite Frisbee necklace. Beautiful, isn't it?  :) Hope every one's enjoying an equally joyous Sunday afternoon!

Happy Birthday, Husband

This post would have come sooner, but I thought our Mac bit the dust.  Turns out, the mouse was unplugged...  :) In years past, Birthday Week was my favorite, and while it's still the crowned Holiday Season around here, it got a lot busier this year (turning from Birthday Week, into Birthday Month). I can't tell you how nice it felt to let the dust settle yesterday.... sigh. Thursday was Kevin's birthday eve, so we dropped Abigail off at my parent's house and Kevin and I went boating- it was a blast!  We grabbed a few brews, went swimming, then headed to Blue Water Bistro at Leschi for dinner.  After dinner we extended our Eve celebration with night swimming... probably not the safest idea to kill the lights and swim in the dark, but I love the rush of doing dumb things... it makes me feel young and stupid again  :) Heading back from dinner at sunset Friday morning I rushed home to prepare for Kevin's semi-surprise birthday party (he knew we were

Round 2

(ding, ding, ding) In case you weren't aware, August marks Birthday Month  at the Lauckner's! Abigail kicked it off last weekend with The Big One , we spent this past weekend celebrating mine (August 11th), then we'll wrap it up with Kevin's birthday on Friday (the 17th).  I should also mention, Papa's birthday is tomorrow (the 15th)...  and Auntie Carolyn's on the 28th... Tis' the Season! We kicked off my birthday weekend with Summer Streets .  Each year "Phinneywood" (the hybrid neighborhoods of Phinney Ridge and Greenwood) get together for a summer art festival; Greenwood Ave. shuts down, and neighbors come out and play. It was a perfect evening spent strolling the streets and reminding ourselves that maybe we do love our neighborhood after all  ;) Saturday morning Abigail woke up eager to start celebrating (read: 6am. Happy Birthday to me...)  So we headed out for an early breakfast at our favorite spot ( Roxy's ) th
