Champagne dreams

and enough Burlesque to make the bride blush!

But I'm getting ahead of myself....

Let's start at the beginning.

Annie and Mark are getting married in Redondo Beach this September!

While most celebrations  are taking place in LA, I wanted to have a few celebrations for her at home.  So this weekend I hosted a bridal shower and mini-bachlorette party.  Both were a blast!

Kevin and Abigail headed for the zoo before the shower started- Kevin dressed her  :)

Proud Mama in her new shoes from Gwen!

And while they enjoyed the chimp caves, penguins, and giraffes, we sipped champagne, played games, and opened gifts.

We got so wrapped up in the "who knows the bride best" game, that we almost forgot about "pin a kiss on the groom"

Pucker up!

Classic Kristin!

After a quick redirection, she made it

Steph.  Would you expect anything less?!

Guess who won  :)

The ladies!

After the shower, we headed downtown to continue our fun-filled-champagne-soaked-day!

Festivities began on the deck at Hard Rock, then continued to Pink Door for the burlesque show, Frontier Room, and Amber.

Annie and Kurt, rockin' it out

From Pink Door on, things got amazingly fun interesting...

Just another "blushing" moment...
And another...  ;)

She was clearly a yogi...

Although there were quite a few "WTH" moments, the show was So. Much. Fun!

(He doesn't know it yet, but I'm bringing Kevin back for date night- asap)

After the show, we headed to Annie's old stomping grounds: The Frontier Room and Amber.

Boy, the things I do for this girl  ;)

The night ended at 2am when the bar lights came on and everyone was kicked out (I felt like I was 24 again!).  A hilarious, crazy, and truly eventful evening!

***

Annie, thank you so much for coming home to celebrate in Seattle.  I cannot wait to stand beside you as you get married in a mere two months(!!)

I wish you and Mark all the happiness in the world.  Today and always, my dear friend.

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered the queso dip (yep, the

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a
