Merry Christmas!

Aaah... baby's first Christmas.  Life doesn't get much sweeter.

With Abigail in tow, and Kevin and I full of holiday cheer, we celebrated with both families this year!

It all started on Christmas Adam.  You know... the day before Christmas Eve.  Since Adam came before Eve  ;)

Christmas Adam

My Mom wanted everyone together for a Christmas morning celebration, so we decided to start a new tradition:  Christmas dinner on "Christmas Adam" followed by "Christmas Morning" on Christmas Eve ...are you following?  ;)

The celebrations began around 4pm on Christmas Adam when we arrived at Gma and Gpa's for our overnight stay.

Abigail was greeted by Gma with her first present!  A long sleeve onsie which read: Dear Santa, I can explain... and little snowman booties.

We enjoyed a delicious meal that evening, then opened presents Christmas Eve morning.  Of course, Abigail was the last person to wake up.

Grandma surpised Abigail with a rocking cow.  Very Grandma appropriate  ;)

After opening presents, it was off to Stef and Matt's; which brings us to our next celebration...

Christmas Eve

Every year we spend Christmas Eve with my Mom's side of the family.  We keep up the tradition by trading off hosting every three years (my Mom, Aunt Lucy, and Aunt Gloria).  This year we celebrated at my cousin Stefanie and her husband Matt's house.

Teething was in full effect

Abigail and Uncle Richard-- buddies
Festive trouble makers
Abigail hung out on the couch while we ate dinner.
She chatted away for the first 10 minutes, then took a nap for the rest of dinner-- great timing!
Abigail finally found her toes on Christmas Eve (I know, a little late!) they are her new favorite toy.

Stef and Matt did an amazing job with our traditional beef tenderloin dinner, and even made mini chocolate cake in Mason jars for dessert.  Thanks again guys...you did a wonderful job!

Christmas Morning

As planned, we headed home Christmas Eve night and celebrated our first Christmas morning together as a family.  It was so much fun curling up on the couch in our sweats, big cup of coffee in hand, and opening presents as a family.

Abigail's favorite part: the wrapping paper

Nothing says I love you like a Tiffany's necklace with an A for Abigail on it  :)
She was fascinated with the yule log on TV
Abigail's new tummy time mirror.  She thinks it's hilarious seeing herself

After Abigail took a nap, we headed over to Kevin's sister's house to celebrate with Mamie, Papa, Uncle Michael, and the Eisendrath's!

We started downstairs at Mamie and Papa's where we opened gifts with Lucy, Oscar, and Charlie.

Nothing says Christmas quite like kids eagerly opening gifts... so much fun!

Lucy got a Razor scooter!

Oscar is the baby lover of the family and loves to cuddle with Abigail and Charlie.

After opening presents we headed to Anne and Ian's for dinner with Wendy and Briscoe followed by a post-dinner jam session compliments of Papa, Kevin, and Oscar.

The babies slept while we ate...

Not the most lady like sleeper  ;)
Oscar jamin' out with Kevin and Papa

We got Lucy the above guitar for Christmas last year, but it's quickly become Oscar's favorite.  It's so cute watching him play.

Okay, loooooong post, so I'll wrap it up with Joy To The World -- compliments of Kevin, Papa, and Oscar!

From our home to yours, Merry Christmas!!!

20 week ultrasound

Yesterday Kevin and I went to our 20 week ultrasound.  Everything looked great and the two questions still lingering in my mind were confirmed. 1) Yes, it's a boy! 2) Nope, I'm not having twins  :) I've heard it a million times: with each pregnancy you pop a little sooner, but when I was in maternity pants at 12 weeks, I thought surely there must be two in there... Here are some pictures, if you'd like to see. During George's 20 week ultrasound Kevin admitted he'd almost fallen asleep, so I will admit: I had a hard time staying awake this time  :) But we did get to see him in 4D ultrasound which we've never done before, so that was really cool. So fun! After our appointment we went to breakfast at Salish Lodge and took my first Month of Bumps picture. (cue shrills of excitement from everyone eager to see belly pics for the next 4 months!) Before taking the picture I (lovingly) assured Kevin that yes, we would be taking...

Cocina Esperanza

Just had to give a shout out to our new restaurant find!  Kevin and I were driving around the Sunset Hill / Blue Ridge neighborhoods last weekend and came upon this little Mexican restaurant.  A very unassuming place...small brick building near the corner of NW 85th & 30th Ave (right next to the north entrance of Golden Garden's and Shilshole Bay Marina).  We finally got around to checking it out late last week, and oh boy, have we been missing out!! Now, any of you who know me, know I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur...and by connoisseur, I mean boarder line obsessive.  I love all things Mexican cuisine...especially melted cheese.  So I should admit; their whole "authentic" label had me a bit apprehensive ...."will there be enough melted cheese on my food??"   was sadly my first thought  (hey, I'm pregnant...give a girl a break!)  So, late last week, we wandered in, found a nice table by the window, ordered t...

Two!

Yesterday you turned two; I can hardly believe it! Two year pictures, wearing a dress I wore when I was little You are such a funny, sweet little girl, and I love seeing your personality unfold more each day.  This last month you've really started coming out of your shell and love making people laugh; whether tickling "gee gee gee gee" , or joking around (the other day you took a doll house high chair and pretended to sit in it...all the while looking back at me smiling and laughing like "look, I'm going to try and sit in this teeny highchair!" ), you sure know how to make us laugh. Music is your first love.  Beach Boys Greatest Hits is the current album favorite , so we listen to it in the car every day.  Mainly to Barbara Ann (you always request "ba ba ba" ).  You also love listening to Swiss music with Grandma and having Dad play "Abigail Loves Cheese" on his guitar when he gets home at night. Schwingfest is this Saturday a...
